WEEK- 39 of Pregnancy

Intro:
Welcome to the 39th week of your pregnancy! I’m Dr. Heal. Let’s look at the changes happening in your baby and your body as you continue this exciting journey into parenthood.

Key Information:
At 39 weeks, your baby can likely flex their limbs, and their brain is still developing rapidly, making them smarter by the week. They should still be moving regularly, despite the cramped space in your womb. Their little movements may feel more like rolls or stretches rather than kicks or flips!
Your body is now preparing for labor with symptoms like Braxton Hicks contractions, which feel like tightening in the front and will ease down when you change positions. Some moms may feel an urge to clean their house and prepare their homes for the baby’s arrival. You may feel sharp pelvic pains as the baby presses on your nerves. You might also see changes in discharge, like your mucus plug or blood spots, which could mean labor is close. Watch out for labor signs like your water breaking and regular, painful contractions that are 5 minutes apart. Your baby’s almost here- hang in there, you’ve got this!

Conclusion:
Catch as much as sleep you can get this week since soon it’s probably going to be chaotic once your baby is out. Look into installing a car seat for your little one and take a warm bath whenever you feel stressed. If you have questions or need advice, Apollo doctors and our supportive community are always here for you. You’ve got this supermom!
