WEEK- 34 of Pregnancy

Intro:
Welcome to week 34 of pregnancy! I’m Dr. Heal, and today we’ll dive into the changes happening inside your body during the 34th week of pregnancy.

Key Information:
Right now, your baby’s skin is getting ready for a life outside your womb. The vernix, a protective layer around your baby’s skin is beginning to thicken to protect them during the delivery which is not too far away! your little one’s sense & organs are working in full swing. Your baby's digestive and intestinal systems are fully developed and functioning. Their fingernails and toenails are growing and are probably reaching the tips of their fingers and toes.
You might feel some pressure and discomfort in your abdomen. You may need to pee more frequently, and swollen ankles, foot pain, constipation, and fatigue yet persist. Those practice contractions in your uterus which feel like period cramps, called Braxton Hicks contractions are still being performed irregularly. Your Braxton Hicks contractions are getting more frequent and stronger. They can be a bit uncomfortable but should go away with movement. If they get more intense and more frequent, go to a doctor immediately.

Conclusion:
Avoid foods high in sodium to help with your swollen feet. Drink plenty of water and rest up now, your body is working plenty hard already. And If you have questions or need advice, Apollo doctors and our supportive community are always here for you. You’ve got this supermom!
