WEEK- 19 of Pregnancy

Intro:
Welcome to Week 19 of your pregnancy! I’m Dr. Heal, and today, we’ll dive into the exciting milestones pregnancy holds for you and your baby this week!

Key Information:
At 19 weeks, your baby is starting to produce brown fat, which will help keep them warm after birth.. Exciting things are happening as your little one grows! Distinct, permanent patterns form on fingers and toes. A waxy coating is also being formed to protect, moisturize, and aid in your baby’s development. This is called the Vernix Caseosa.
You will feel your abdomen ache due to the muscles that are stretching to make room for your baby in the uterus. Dizziness or feeling lightheaded is possible at this stage as your blood vessels are under pressure from the growing uterus. You might also feel dehydrated or hungry more often. Leg cramps may be uncomfortable, but make sure to stretch or gently massage your leg to ease the pain

Conclusion:
Make sure you take it slow- rushing around can cause dizziness, so move carefully and listen to your body. Prenatal yoga can help with leg cramps, backaches, and hip pain, but be sure to get your doctor’s approval and choose a class with modified poses. Remember that our Apollo doctors and community are always here to guide you. You’ve got this supermom!
