 WEEK- 18 of Pregnancy

Intro:
Congratulations on the 18th week of your pregnancy! I’m Dr. Heal, and today, we’ll talk about the milestones you and your baby are crossing in this eventful week!

Key Information:
Your 18-week-old baby is busy working their muscles and practicing all sorts of movements- yawning, hiccupping, rolling, punching, and kicking, but you might not feel it yet. Your baby’s ears, nose, lips, eyelids, eyebrows, and hair are formed. Branch-like structures in their lungs, called Bronchioles develop, with respiratory sacs forming.
You may feel your feet swelling up, backaches, leg cramps, and varicose veins as your body adjusts to the pregnancy changes. Trouble sleeping and nosebleeds can also make things uncomfortable. You might notice increased pressure on your circulatory system and posture changes contributing to aches.

Conclusion:
Make sure to include calcium, magnesium, and potassium in your diet to prevent leg cramps. Try yoga-style stretches for back pain, and use a pregnancy pillow for better sleep and comfort! If you have any questions or just need a little reassurance, our Apollo doctors and community are always here for you every step of the way! You’ve got this supermom!
