Developments In Month 7

Intro: Congratulations on reaching Month 7! Hello, I’m Dr Heal today we’ll dive into the milestones your baby is expecting this month.

Key information- In this seventh month, your baby most likely weighs between 6.1 and 10.2 kg. At this stage, many babies can sit up without support, though they may need their hands to balance. If your baby hasn’t started crawling yet, don’t worry; they may start moving soon, or they may skip crawling altogether and go straight to walking! You might also notice your baby working on their fine motor skills, like the “pincer grasp,” where they use their thumb and forefinger to pick things up.

They’re becoming quite vocal, babbling to get your attention and imitating sounds they hear. They may babble, make vowel sounds like "ah" and "oh", and consonant sounds like "mmm" and "bbb". They may also respond to their own name. Teething is a common concern around this time as the bottom incisors usually appear by now. So your baby might try to bite and  Engage with your baby by reading interactive books with textures or flaps for them to explore. Toys that have buttons that trigger sounds or lights are a hit at this stage!

Conclusion-  Always remember that you're not alone- You can connect with an Apollo doctor online or post your doubts and concerns on our community page. You've got this, Supermom!
