About Visgrain Tablet 10's

Visgrain Tablet 10's is indicated to treat and prevent migraine. Visgrain Tablet 10's is used to relieve the symptoms at the first sign of a migraine attack and to prevent the worsening of the attack. Migraine is a neurological condition which is characterised by an intense pulsating, throbbing, pounding, debilitating headache which usually occurs on one side of the head; however, it can occur on both sides or shift.

Visgrain Tablet 10's is a combination of four drugs, namely: Ergotamine (ergot alkaloid), caffeine (methylxanthine), prochlorperazine (anti-emetic) and paracetamol (analgesic). Ergotamine works by narrowing the blood vessels in the brain and also affects the blood flow patterns associated with headaches. Caffeine enhances the vasoconstrictive effect (narrowing of blood vessels). Prochlorperazine prevents nausea and vomiting associated with migraine by modifying the effects of neurotransmitters. Paracetamol blocks the release of prostaglandins that cause pain.

You are advised to take Visgrain Tablet 10's as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects, such as stomach upset, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, and insomnia (trouble sleeping). Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Visgrain Tablet 10's contains paracetamol; do not take other medicines containing paracetamol along with Visgrain Tablet 10's unless prescribed. Do not take Visgrain Tablet 10's if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Visgrain Tablet 10's may cause drowsiness and dizziness, so drive with caution. Visgrain Tablet 10's should not be given to children as safety and efficacy have not been established. Avoid consuming alcohol with Visgrain Tablet 10's as it could lead to increased drowsiness and dizziness. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medicines to rule out any side effects/interactions.
