About Migraine Relief Tablet

Migraine Relief Tablet is indicated to treat and prevent migraine. Migraine Relief Tablet is used to relieve the symptoms at the first sign of a migraine attack and to prevent the worsening of the attack. Migraine is a neurological condition which is characterised by an intense pulsating, throbbing, pounding, debilitating headache which usually occurs on one side of the head; however, it can occur on both sides or shift.

Migraine Relief Tablet is a combination of four drugs, namely: Ergotamine (ergot alkaloid), caffeine (methylxanthine), prochlorperazine (anti-emetic) and paracetamol (analgesic). Ergotamine works by narrowing the blood vessels in the brain and also affects the blood flow patterns associated with headaches. Caffeine enhances the vasoconstrictive effect (narrowing of blood vessels). Prochlorperazine prevents nausea and vomiting associated with migraine by modifying the effects of neurotransmitters. Paracetamol blocks the release of prostaglandins that cause pain.

You are advised to take Migraine Relief Tablet as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects, such as stomach upset, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, and insomnia (trouble sleeping). Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Migraine Relief Tablet contains paracetamol; do not take other medicines containing paracetamol along with Migraine Relief Tablet unless prescribed. Do not take Migraine Relief Tablet if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Migraine Relief Tablet may cause drowsiness and dizziness, so drive with caution. Migraine Relief Tablet should not be given to children as safety and efficacy have not been established. Avoid consuming alcohol with Migraine Relief Tablet as it could lead to increased drowsiness and dizziness. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medicines to rule out any side effects/interactions.
