Retol-Plus Tablet 10's is indicated to treat and prevent migraine. Retol-Plus Tablet 10's is used to relieve the symptoms at the first sign of a migraine attack and to prevent the worsening of the attack. Migraine is a neurological condition which is characterised by an intense pulsating, throbbing, pounding, debilitating headache which usually occurs on one side of the head; however, it can occur on both sides or shift.

Retol-Plus Tablet 10's is a combination of four drugs, namely: Ergotamine (ergot alkaloid), caffeine (methylxanthine), prochlorperazine (anti-emetic) and paracetamol (analgesic). Ergotamine works by narrowing the blood vessels in the brain and also affects the blood flow patterns associated with headaches. Caffeine enhances the vasoconstrictive effect, which is the narrowing of blood vessels. Prochlorperazine prevents nausea and vomiting associated with migraine by modifying the effects of neurotransmitters. Paracetamol blocks the release of prostaglandins that cause pain.

You are advised to take Retol-Plus Tablet 10's as directed by your doctor, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience specific common side effects, such as stomach upset, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, and insomnia (trouble sleeping). Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Retol-Plus Tablet 10's contains paracetamol; do not take other medicines containing paracetamol along with Retol-Plus Tablet 10's unless prescribed. Do not take Retol-Plus Tablet 10's if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Retol-Plus Tablet 10's may cause drowsiness and dizziness, so drive with caution. Retol-Plus Tablet 10's should not be given to children as safety and efficacy have not been established. Avoid consuming alcohol with Retol-Plus Tablet 10's as it could lead to increased drowsiness and dizziness. Take Retol-Plus Tablet 10's with or without food. Swallow Retol-Plus Tablet 10's as a whole with a glass of water; do not chew or break it.
