Tegoyes 5.8mg/15.8mg/20mg Capsule is indicated in the treatment of stomach/gastric cancer. Stomach (gastric) cancer is a type of cancer that originates in the cells lining the stomach. Symptoms may include feeling bloated after eating, nausea, heartburn or indigestion.

Tegoyes 5.8mg/15.8mg/20mg Capsule contains Tegafur, Gimeracil and Oteracil, which work by inhibiting the genetic material and preventing the growth of cancer cells. Thereby, it helps treat stomach cancer.

In some cases, Tegoyes 5.8mg/15.8mg/20mg Capsule may cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, and constipation. Do not be reluctant to talk with your doctor if any of the side effects persist or worsen.

Medicinal Benefits

Tegoyes 5.8mg/15.8mg/20mg Capsule is indicated in the treatment of stomach/gastric cancer. Tegoyes 5.8mg/15.8mg/20mg Capsule contains Tegafur, Gimeracil and Oteracil. Tegafur is converted into the active drug 5FU (fluorouracil) in the liver and then absorbed by tumour cells. It inhibits the synthesis of genetic material (DNA and RNA) and prevents the growth of cancer cells. Gimeracil prevents the degradation of 5FU, and Oteracil inhibits the gastrointestinal toxicity of 5FU. Together, Tegoyes 5.8mg/15.8mg/20mg Capsule helps treat stomach cancer.

Directions for Use

Swallow the medicine as a whole with water; do not crush or chew it. Take the capsule 1 hour before or 1 hour after a meal or as advised by the doctor.

Drug Warnings

Do not take Tegoyes 5.8mg/15.8mg/20mg Capsule if you are allergic to any of its components, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, if you have a history of severe and unexpected reactions to fluoropyrimidine therapy, known dihydropyrimidine dehydrogenase (DPD) deficiency, severe bone marrow suppression, or end-stage renal disease requiring dialysis. Inform the doctor if you have bone marrow suppression, diarrhoea, dehydration, kidney or liver problems, or eye toxicity. Tegoyes 5.8mg/15.8mg/20mg Capsule is not recommended for use in children below 18 years. Let the doctor know if you take other medicines, including supplements and herbal products.
