About Theofil 400mg Capsule

Theofil 400mg Capsule is a respiratory medicine which belongs to the class of 'Xanthine' primarily used for the management of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Asthma is a breathing problem in which airways narrow, swell and may produce extra mucus, which may lead to breathing difficulty and trigger cough, a whistling sound (wheezing) when you breathe out and shortness of breath. COPD is a group of progressive lung diseases, most commonly emphysema (shortness of breath) and chronic bronchitis (inflammation and irritation of bronchial tubes). Initially, it may be mild, but in severe cases, it can lead to total blockage of airways and damage to the lungs.

Theofil 400mg Capsule contains Theophylline, which helps in the treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Theophylline works by relaxing the airway in the lungs and making it easier to breathe. In addition to this, theophylline also helps in treating the symptoms hence making it easier to treat. It is generally a long-term treatment.

You should take Theofil 400mg Capsule without food, mostly on an empty stomach. It should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. Do not chew, bite, or break it. Your doctor will advise you on how often you take your tablets based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience nausea, vomiting, restlessness, tremors, headache, muscle cramps, and increased heart rate. Most of these side effects of Theofil 400mg Capsule do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

Try not to stop taking this medicine of your own. Let your doctor know about this, as it may cause withdrawal symptoms. Do not take this medicine if you have any lung disease, muscle weakness (myasthenia gravis), sleeping disorder, difficulty in sleeping (sleep apnoea), severe liver disease, or problem with alcohol or other prescription recreational drugs. Theofil 400mg Capsule is a habit-forming drug, and hence, there is a risk of dependence on this medicine. So, before stopping this medicine, contact a doctor as it may cause withdrawal symptoms like anxiety, increased heart rate, tremors, or general unwell feeling.
