Lozivate-3S Ointment is a dermatological medication primarily used to treat eczema and psoriasis. Eczema is a skin condition associated with inflamed, itchy, cracked, and rough skin patches. Psoriasis is a skin disease in which skin cells multiply rapidly to form bumpy (uneven) red patches covered with white scales.
Lozivate-3S Ointment contains Clobetasol propionate (corticosteroid) and Salicylic acid (peeling agent). Clobetasol propionate is a corticosteroid that blocks the production of prostaglandins (chemical messengers) that make the affected area red, swollen, and itchy. Salicylic acid is a keratolytic medicine (that softens, separates, and causes peeling of the cornified epithelium or horny layer of skin). It increases the amount of moisture in the skin and dissolves the substance that causes the skin cells to stick together.
Your doctor will advise the appropriate use of Lozivate-3S Ointment that suits your infection. Common side effects of Lozivate-3S Ointment include itching, dryness, and a burning sensation at the application site. These side effects are temporary and gradually resolve over time. If the side effects are persistent, please consult your doctor.
Let your doctor know if you are sensitive to Lozivate-3S Ointment or any other medications. Do not use Lozivate-3S Ointment on open wounds, blisters, and lesions. Please do not cover the affected areas with a dressing or bandage unless advised. Lozivate-3S Ointment is not recommended for use in diaper rash. Let your doctor know if you have liver/kidney diseases, diabetes, Cushing's disease (high cortisol levels), and blood circulation problems before starting Lozivate-3S Ointment. Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should consult the doctor before starting Lozivate-3S Ointment.
Lozivate-3S Ointment treats skin infections, such as eczema, psoriasis. It consists of Clobetasol propionate and Salicylic acid. Clobetasol propionate is a corticosteroid that blocks the production of prostaglandins (chemical messengers) that make the affected area red, swollen, and itchy. It treats inflammation and itchiness caused by eczema and psoriasis. Salicylic acid is a keratolytic medicine (softens, separates, and causes peeling of the cornified epithelium or horny layer of skin). It increases the amount of moisture in the skin and dissolves the substance that causes the skin cells to stick together. Salicylic acid breaks down the clumps of keratin, removes dead skin cells, and softens the skin. It is also an anti-inflammatory agent and topical antibacterial. Lozivate-3S Ointment removes the scaling and reduces the redness and itchiness due to skin infections.
Lozivate-3S Ointment is for topical (for skin) use only. Lozivate-3S Ointment is not recommended for use in diaper rash. Inform your doctor beforehand if you have blood circulation problems, active skin infections, and chickenpox. Prolonged use of steroid containing medicines leads to skin sensitisation and the development of resistant organisms. Do not cover the affected areas with occlusive dressings while using Lozivate-3S Ointment. Avoid applying Lozivate-3S Ointment on sunburns, lesions, blisters, and open wounds. Topical usage of corticosteroids like Clobetasol propionate in pregnant women should be used with caution under a doctor's supervision. Let your doctor know if you are a lactating mother before using Lozivate-3S Ointment. If you apply Lozivate-3S Ointment to breasts or nipples for treatment, wash it off while nursing your baby. Do not go near naked flames since the fabric that comes in contact with Lozivate-3S Ointment may burn easily. Washing the fabric may decrease the risk, but it does not remove the product completely. Do not store Lozivate-3S Ointment above 25°C.
