About Alphalan 50 mg Injection

Alphalan 50 mg Injection belongs to a class of alkylating agents, also known as chemotherapeutic agents. It is used to treat various cancer conditions such as multiple myeloma ((a type of cancer that develops from cells in the bone marrow called plasma cells), advanced cancer of the ovaries, childhood neuroblastoma (cancer of the nervous system), malignant melanoma (skin cancer) and soft tissue sarcoma. Cancer is a genetic change in which the body's cells divide uncontrollably and spread into surrounding tissues. Alphalan 50 mg Injection is also used to destroy bone marrow and cancer cells in preparation for a bone marrow transplant in people with multiple myeloma.

Alphalan 50 mg Injection contains Melphalan, which reduces the number of abnormal cells your body makes. Thus, it treats cancer efficiently.

Alphalan 50 mg Injection will be administered only in a hospital setting by an experienced healthcare professional. The most common adverse reactions observed in patients treated with Alphalan 50 mg Injection are neutrophil count decreased, white blood cell count decreased, platelet count decreased, lymphocyte count decreased, diarrhoea, fatigue, anaemia, nausea, vomiting and hypokalemia.
