Folic Acid+iron+succinimide
About Folic Acid+iron+succinimide
Folic Acid+iron+succinimide belongs to a class of medications called 'haematinics' primarily used to treat anaemia (deficiency of iron and haemoglobin). Its deficiency occurs mainly due to poor diet, poor absorption of food or increased folate use in the body (in pregnancy). Anaemia is a condition in which the body does not have enough red blood cells to carry adequate oxygen required to various body tissues.
Folic Acid+iron+succinimide is a combination of three drugs, namely, Folic acid, Iron, and Succinimide. Folic acid helps the body make more red blood cells. Iron is needed by red blood cells to carry oxygen to other body cells and tissues. Succinimide works by promoting good health and muscle development.
Take Folic Acid+iron+succinimide as advised by your physician. You are advised to take Folic Acid+iron+succinimide for as long as your physician has recommended it for you, depending upon your medical condition. You may experience constipation, dry mouth, loss of appetite, bloating, and diarrhoea in some cases. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your physician.
If you have or ever had stomach/intestinal problems (e.g., ulcers, colitis), use/abuse of alcohol, vitamin B12 deficiency (pernicious anaemia), please inform your physician before taking Folic Acid+iron+succinimide to avoid any complications. Consult the doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Folic Acid+iron+succinimide is given to a child under 12 years of age only if advised by the doctor.

Folic Acid+iron+succinimide helps the body make more red blood cells and helps the red blood cells carry out more oxygenated blood to other tissues of the body.
Folate and vitamin B12 deficiencies usually happen when a person does not take proper diet and vitamin B12 deficiency happening in the elderly, due to poor absorption. Folate is present in more concentration in leafy green vegetables, legumes and some fruits, so consume such products.
Iron is an important mineral in the body required by red blood cells to carry oxygen to other body cells and tissues. By combining with a protein called haemoglobin, it helps in attracting oxygen in the lugs. Factors including pregnancy, blood loss, or low iron in the diet can reduce the iron supply leading to anaemia.
