EZETIMIBE+PITAVASTATIN

If you are allergic to Ezetimibe, Pitavastatin or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Your doctor may recommend a blood test before and after you start taking EZETIMIBE+PITAVASTATIN to check your liver function. If you are taking or have taken fusidic acid (antibiotic) orally or by injection in the last 7 days, inform your doctor, as the combination of fusidic acid and pitavastatin may lead to serious muscle problems (rhabdomyolysis). If you are aged 65 years or older, or drink excessive amounts of alcohol, please inform your doctor. Avoid using EZETIMIBE+PITAVASTATIN if you are pregnant. Also, you are advised to use effective birth control measures while taking EZETIMIBE+PITAVASTATIN to avoid pregnancy. Please inform your doctor if you are a breastfeeding mother. If you have any concerns regarding the use of EZETIMIBE+PITAVASTATIN for children, consult a doctor. If you feel dizzy or sleepy after taking EZETIMIBE+PITAVASTATIN, avoid driving or operating machinery. Maintain a cholesterol-lowering diet along with EZETIMIBE+PITAVASTATIN for effective results. If you have diabetes or are at risk of developing diabetes, your doctor will monitor you closely while on treatment with EZETIMIBE+PITAVASTATIN. You are likely to be at risk of developing diabetes if you have high levels of sugars and fats in the blood, high blood pressure and are overweight.

Drug-Drug Interaction: If you are taking immunosuppressant (ciclosporin), blood thinners (warfarin, acenocoumarol, phenprocoumon, fluindione), other cholesterol-lowering drugs (colestyramine, gemfibrozil, fenofibrate), antibiotics (erythromycin, rifampicin, fusidic acid), medicines used to treat HIV (lopinavir, darunavir, ritonavir, atazanavir, efavirenz), drugs used to treat hepatitis C (glecaprevir, pibrentasvir) or niacin (vitamin B3), inform your doctor before taking EZETIMIBE+PITAVASTATIN.

Drug-Disease Interaction: Avoid taking EZETIMIBE+PITAVASTATIN if you have liver problems. If you have severe breathing problems, myasthenia (general muscle weakness), ocular myasthenia (eye muscle weakness), muscle problems, diabetes, thyroid, kidney or liver problems, inform your doctor before taking EZETIMIBE+PITAVASTATIN.

• Maintain a low-fat diet. Limit your intake of dairy products made with whole milk and red meat. Prefer skim milk and fat-free or low-fat dairy products.
• Eat a healthy diet that includes fruits, vegetables, fish, poultry, whole grains, nuts, cut-down beverages, and processed and sugary foods.
• Do regular exercises such as swimming, cycling, walking, or dancing and focus on losing weight. Obesity also raises bad cholesterol and lowers good cholesterol.
• Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption.

If you experience unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness, consult your doctor immediately, as on rare occasions, muscle problems, including muscle breakdown resulting in kidney damage, can be serious and may become a potentially life-threatening condition.
