Meaxon Plus Tablet is used to treat nutritional deficiencies. It effectively treats various conditions caused by a lack of vitamins, such as folate, vitamin B6, and B12 deficiencies, anaemia, diabetic neuropathy (nerve damage due to diabetes), and peripheral neuropathy (nerve damage in the hands and feet). Nutritional deficiency occurs when the body is unable to absorb or get enough nutrients from food.

Meaxon Plus Tablet contains Benfotiamine, Folic acid, Pyridoxine, and Mecobalamin. Benfotiamine, a synthetic form of Vitamin B1 or Thiamine, helps deliver essential nutrients to the nerves. Folic acid is the synthetic form of folate (water-soluble Vitamin B). It helps in forming red blood cells and prevents DNA changes that may lead to cancer. Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) is a water-soluble vitamin that is involved in protein, fat, and carbohydrate metabolism and the formation of red blood cells and neurotransmitters. Mecobalamin (Methylcobalamin), a form of vitamin B12, regulates body functions, such as cell multiplication, blood cell formation, and protein synthesis. 

Your doctor will decide the dosage based on your medical condition. Sometimes, Meaxon Plus Tablet may cause common side effects like nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, skin rash, and headache. These side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. Talk to your doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.

Let your doctor know if you use any other medications, including vitamins, before starting Meaxon Plus Tablet . Please tell your doctor if you are allergic to Meaxon Plus Tablet or its components. It is essential to let your doctor know if you are pregnant, planning to conceive or a breastfeeding mother. Avoid consuming alcohol along with Meaxon Plus Tablet to ensure maximum absorption of nutrients. Meaxon Plus Tablet should be used in children only with the doctor's advice.

Let your doctor know if you have any blood disorders like pernicious anaemia before starting Meaxon Plus Tablet . This supplement should be used during pregnancy only when advised by your doctor. Pyridoxine and Folic acid are excreted into breast milk. Hence, breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking Meaxon Plus Tablet . Drinking alcohol may hinder Meaxon Plus Tablet absorption; therefore, it is advised to limit the alcohol intake while using Meaxon Plus Tablet . Meaxon Plus Tablet is safe to use in children only when advised by the doctor. Keep Meaxon Plus Tablet away from direct sunlight. Do not store Meaxon Plus Tablet above 25ºC.

Drug-Drug Interaction: Meaxon Plus Tablet may interact with fits medicines (fosphenytoin, phenytoin, phenobarbital), cancer-treating drugs (altretamine), antiparasitics (pyrimethamine), and drugs used to treat tumours (fluorouracil).

Drug-Food Interaction: Please avoid alcohol while using Meaxon Plus Tablet to ensure maximum absorption of nutrients.

Drug-Disease Interaction: Use Meaxon Plus Tablet with medical advice if you have malabsorption syndrome (difficulty absorbing nutrition from food), liver, kidney or heart diseases, and allergic reactions to medicines.

• Try Vitamin B complex food sources like milk, cheese, eggs, chicken, red meat, tuna, mackerel, salmon, shellfish, oysters, clams, dark green vegetables, such as spinach and kale, beets, avocados, potatoes, whole grains, cereals, kidney beans, black beans, and chickpea.

• Include folate-rich food sources like broccoli, Brussels sprouts, leafy green vegetables, cabbage, kale, spring greens, spinach, peas, chickpeas, kidney beans, liver (avoid this during pregnancy), and fortified breakfast cereals.

• Taking vegetables like acorn squash, asparagus, beet greens, Brussels sprouts, and spinach can help you cope with Vitamin B1 deficiency.

• Sprinkle sunflower seeds over your food, vegetables and salads. 

• Include fruits like citrus, banana, and watermelon in your diet.

• Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption.

• Exercise regularly and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Avoid excess fatty foods.

• Clinical monitoring of folic acid, vitamins B1, B12, and B6 levels through blood examinations are recommended. 

• Let your doctor and the laboratory staff know if you are using Meaxon Plus Tablet since Pyridoxine may interfere with a urine test for urobilinogen.

Neuropathic pain: It is a nervous system disorder caused due to damage to sensory nerves. It is caused by chronic progressive nerve disease or due to infection or injury. The pain could be intermittent or continuous, such as a prickling, stabbing, tingling or burning sensation.
