About Dicnos Topical Gel

Dicnos Topical Gel is a combination medicine used to relieve pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal disorders, strain, sprain, tendonitis, joint pain, muscle stiffness, back pain, bursitis (inflammation of the bursae), lumbago (low back pain), neck, hand, and shoulder pain. Musculoskeletal pain could occur due to arthritis, osteoporosis, fractures, dislocations, problems with the bone structure, or injury to the bones, joints, tendons, muscles, and ligaments.

Dicnos Topical Gel contains Diclofenac diethylamine, oleum lini, methyl salicylate, and menthol. Diclofenac diethylamine and Methyl salicylate work by blocking the effect of chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation. Oleum lini prevents inflammation by improving blood circulation. Menthol provides a cooling sensation by dilating the blood vessels, followed by an analgesic effect. Together, Dicnos Topical Gel helps in providing relief from pain.

You are advised to use Dicnos Topical Gel for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience common side-effects such as application site reactions like itching, irritation, redness, and burning sensation. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.

Dicnos Topical Gel is for external use only. Inform your doctor if you have had any recent heart surgery, stomach ulcers, and bleeding problems. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Dicnos Topical Gel is not recommended for children as safety and efficacy have not been established. Avoid contact of Dicnos Topical Gel with eyes, nose, or mouth. If contact occurs, rinse with water thoroughly.

Uses of Dicnos Topical Gel

Treatment of Pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal and joint disorders

Medicinal Benefits

Dicnos Topical Gel is used to relieve pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal disorders, strain, sprain, tendonitis, joint pain, muscle stiffness, back pain, bursitis, lumbago (low back pain), neck, hand, and shoulder pain. Dicnos Topical Gel contains Diclofenac diethylamine, oleum lini, methyl salicylate, and menthol. Diclofenac and Methyl salicylate are non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs that work by blocking the effect of a chemical messenger known as cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes that make another chemical prostaglandin. By blocking the effect of COX enzymes, lesser prostaglandins are produced, which reduces mild to moderate pain and inflammation at the injured or damaged site. Oleum lini is an emollient which prevents inflammation by preventing the action of COX enzymes on arachidonic acid, thus reducing its conversion to PGE2, a highly inflammatory agent. Menthol provides a cooling sensation by dilating the blood vessels, followed by an analgesic effect. It also enhances the penetration of drugs. Together, Dicnos Topical Gel helps in providing relief from pain.

Disease/Condition Glossary

Musculoskeletal pain: Musculoskeletal pain affects the bones, muscles, ligaments, tendons, and nerves. It can be acute or chronic, can be localised or widespread. The pain can be mild or severe enough to interfere with your daily routine. Musculoskeletal pain could occur due to arthritis, osteoporosis, fractures, dislocations, problems with the bone structure or injury to the bones, joints, tendons, muscles, and ligaments. Symptoms of musculoskeletal pain include stiffness, swelling, redness, weakness, muscle spasms or twitching, trouble moving the affected area, and soreness.

Arthritis: It is a joint disease in which the two ends of the joints come together due to the breakdown of a protective covering called cartilage. Due to the absence of this protective covering, the joints rub against each other, leading to pain and stiffness. Symptoms include pain, stiffness, inflammation and tenderness.
