Calcimen-D3 Tablet consists of two medicines, namely: Calcium carbonate(mineral) and  Cholecalciferol(Vitamin D3). Calcium carbonate is a mineral that is used to prevent or treat a calcium deficiency. It provides essential nutrients to maintain bone formation and maintenance. Cholecalciferol(Vitamin D3) is used in the absorption of calcium in the blood. Which helps in the processing of essential minerals in the body like Calcium and Phosphorus. Lack of Vitamin D3 results in bone weakening, bone pain, and skin diseases. 

Take Calcimen-D3 Tablet as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take Calcimen-D3 Tablet as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, Calcimen-D3 Tablet can cause side effects like constipation or stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, mood changes, weakness, tiredness, fast or pounding heartbeat, bone/muscle pain, and headache. What if I have taken an overdose of Calcimen-D3 Tablet

Do not take more than the prescribed dose of Calcimen-D3 Tablet as it may cause overdose. The symptoms of overdose include nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, headache, drowsiness, mental/mood changes tiredness and weakness. If you suspect you have taken overdose or notice signs of overdose, please consult a doctor immediately.

Drug Warnings

If you are known to be allergic to Calcimen-D3 Tablet or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, it is advised to inform your doctor before using Calcimen-D3 Tablet . Higher doses of Vitamin D than the recommended daily dose should be used in pregnant women only when advised by the doctor. Cholecalciferol in higher doses may harm the foetus. Calcimen-D3 Tablet may pass into the breast milk, hence consult your doctor before taking Calcimen-D3 Tablet if you are a breastfeeding mother. Calcimen-D3 Tablet should be used with caution in children and only if prescribed by a doctor. Cholecalciferol in Calcimen-D3 Tablet can affect growth in children. Inform your doctor if your child is not growing at a normal rate while using Calcimen-D3 Tablet . Calcimen-D3 Tablet is not recommended if you have hypercalcemia (high calcium levels), metastatic calcification (extra deposits of calcium in the body), hypervitaminosis D (high vitamin D levels), and malabsorption syndrome (difficulty absorbing nutrition from food). Inform your doctor before taking Calcimen-D3 Tablet if you have any heart/kidney/liver/blood vessel diseases, kidney stones, sarcoidosis (growth of inflammatory cells in different parts of the body), Crohn's disease (inflammatory bowel disease), Whipple's disease (bacterial infection affecting joints and digestive system), achlorhydria (little or no stomach acid), low levels of bile, and phosphate imbalance. Calcimen-D3 Tablet contains sugar or sorbitol; hence caution should be taken to have an intolerance to sugars, diabetes, and phenylketonuria (increased levels of an amino acid called phenylalanine).

Taking Calcium carbonate and Colecalciferol with food containing oxalic acid (e.g., spinach) or phytic acid (e.g., whole grains) can decrease the absorption of Calcium carbonate and Colecalciferol. It is advised to take Calcium carbonate and Colecalciferol 2 hours after or before consumption of food containing oxalic acid or phytic acid.
