About Calcimax Forte+ Tablet

Calcimax Forte+ Tablet is used to treat nutritional deficiency. A nutritional deficiency occurs when the body does not absorb/get enough nutrients from food. Calcimax Forte+ Tablet may be used in the management of hypocalcaemia in patients undergoing dialysis, post-menopausal osteoporosis, low calcium levels in hypoparathyroidism, osteomalacia, osteoporosis, renal tubular osteocalcaemia, vitamin D dependant rickets, hypocalcaemia and hypomagnesaemia.
 
Calcimax Forte+ Tablet is a combination of four supplements: Calcium carbonate, cholecalciferol, magnesium hydroxide and zinc. Calcium carbonate makes the bones stronger by increasing their density. It helps in treating and preventing low calcium levels. Cholecalciferol is a form of vitamin D which helps in the absorption of calcium. Magnesium hydroxide aids in the absorption of calcium by converting vitamin D into its active form. Zinc is necessary for bone-building cells, normal growth, and tissue repair. Together, Calcimax Forte+ Tablet helps in strengthening of bones.
 
You are advised to take Calcimax Forte+ Tablet for as long as your doctor has recommended it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects such as stomach upset, constipation, muscle weakness, nausea, and vomiting. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.
 
Let your doctor know if you are taking any other medicines or herbal products before starting with Calcimax Forte+ Tablet . If you are known to be allergic to any of the components in Calcimax Forte+ Tablet , please inform your doctor. Directions for Use

Swallow Calcimax Forte+ Tablet as a whole with a glass of water; do not chew or break it.

Drug Interactions

Drug-Drug Interactions: Calcimax Forte+ Tablet may interact with anti-epileptic drugs (phenytoin, phenobarbital), corticosteroids (cortisone), diuretics, tetracycline/quinolone antibiotics, and cardiac glycosides. 

Drug-Food Interactions: Maintain a gap of two hours between Calcimax Forte+ Tablet and foods containing oxalic acid and phytic acids, such as spinach, rhubarb, and whole-grain cereals.

Drug-Disease Interactions: Inform your doctor if you have hypercalcaemia (high calcium level in the blood), hypercalciuria (excess calcium in the urine), nephrocalcinosis (excess calcium deposition in the kidneys), nephrolithiasis (kidney stones), hypervitaminosis D (excess vitamin D), malabsorption, severe renal impairment, or renal failure.

Calcimax Forte+ Tablet contains calcium carbonate, cholecalciferol, magnesium hydroxide and zinc. Calcium carbonate makes the bones stronger by increasing their density. It helps in bone formation and maintenance. Cholecalciferol helps in the absorption of calcium. Magnesium hydroxide aids calcium absorption by converting vitamin D into its active form. Zinc is necessary for bone-building cells and inhibits the formation of cells that cause the breakdown of bones. Together, Calcimax Forte+ Tablet helps strengthen bones.
Calcimax Forte+ Tablet can be taken with antibiotics if advised by the doctor. Antibiotics should be taken 2 hours before or 4-6 hours after taking Calcimax Forte+ Tablet as taking them together might affect their absorption.
Calcimax Forte+ Tablet may cause constipation. If you experience constipation, eat fibre-rich food and drink plenty of fluids. Consult your doctor if you have severe constipation.
Avoid consuming foods containing oxalic and phytic acids, such as spinach, rhubarb, and whole-grain cereals, as they might inhibit the absorption of calcium. Maintain a gap of two hours between Calcimax Forte+ Tablet and foods containing oxalic or phytic acid.
Calcimax Forte+ Tablet can be taken with levothyroxine if advised by the doctor. Calcium might lower the effectiveness of levothyroxine, therefore, maintain a gap of 4hours between Calcimax Forte+ Tablet and levothyroxine.
