Valera M 1000 Tablet is used as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycaemic control in adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. This medication improves glycaemic control in diabetic patients who do not react well to metformin alone. Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a chronic or life-long condition in which blood sugar or glucose levels rise more than normal.
Valera M 1000 Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Metformin and Evogliptin. Metformin acts by decreasing liver glucose production and intestinal glucose uptake. On the other side, Evogliptin works by increasing insulin release from the pancreas and decreasing the hormones that raise blood sugar levels. This reduces fasting and post-meal sugar levels. Thereby, Valera M 1000 Tablet reduces sugar levels in the body.
Take Valera M 1000 Tablet as prescribed. You are advised to take Valera M 1000 Tablet for as long as your doctor has advised. In some cases, Valera M 1000 Tablet may cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, headache, stomach ache, respiratory infection, and indigestion. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, consult your doctor.
Do not take Valera M 1000 Tablet if you are allergic to any of its contents. Valera M 1000 Tablet may cause lactic acidosis (accumulation of lactic acid in the blood), which requires immediate medical attention. The risk increases if you are previously diagnosed with kidney or liver diseases. Do not consume alcohol (risk of lactic acidosis) or fast for prolonged periods (risk of hypoglycaemia). Also, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
Valera M 1000 Tablet is indicated for managing type 2 diabetes with the right diet and exercise. Evogliptin works by increasing insulin release from the pancreas and decreasing the hormones that raise blood sugar levels. This reduces fasting and post-meal sugar levels. Thereby, Valera M 1000 Tablet reduces sugar levels in the body.
Do not take Valera M 1000 Tablet if you are allergic to any of its contents. Do not use this medicine if you have heart failure, bladder cancer, or diabetic ketoacidosis (a complication of diabetes). Valera M 1000 Tablet may cause lactic acidosis (accumulation of lactic acid in the blood), which requires immediate medical attention. The risk increases if you are previously diagnosed with kidney or liver diseases. Do not consume alcohol with Valera M 1000 Tablet as it may increase the risk of lactic acidosis or fast for prolonged periods as it might increase the risk of hypoglycaemia. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.

Make sure to carry these with you at all times, especially for long travels.
Type 2 diabetes mellitus: Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a chronic condition in which blood glucose levels are elevated in the body. Insulin is responsible for the utilization of glucose by the cells. In type 2 diabetes, the body cells do not respond to insulin; in later stages, your body may not produce enough insulin. Symptoms include excessive thirst, excessive hunger, fatigue, increased appetite and dry mouth. If not properly treated, this condition may worsen over time and cause toxic effects.
