Tofarus 2% Gel 10 gm

Tofarus 2% Gel belongs to a class of medicines called Janus kinase inhibitors, primarily used to treat alopecia areata (hair loss). Alopecia is the thinning or loss of hair on the scalp or any hair-bearing site on the body. Tofarus 2% Gel stimulates hair growth and slows down the process of balding. Tofarus 2% Gel is also used in the treatment of atopic dermatitis.

Tofarus 2% Gel contains Tofacitinib, which helps prevent hair cell death and promotes new hair growth. 

Tofarus 2% Gel may cause certain side effects, such as excessive hair growth, headache, skin irritation, itching, and rashes. If you experience any other symptoms that may be due to Tofarus 2% Gel, please consult your doctor or pharmacist for further advice. Use Tofarus 2% Gel as prescribed by your doctor.

Avoid using Tofarus 2% Gel if you are allergic to it or its other components. Let your doctor know if you have a history of liver/ kidney disease using Tofarus 2% Gel. Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should consult the doctor before starting Tofarus 2% Gel.

Tofarus 2% Gel contains Tofacitinib, which prevents hair cell death and promotes new hair growth. It promotes blood flow to the hair follicles, providing sufficient nutrition and oxygen to the hair cells. Supplying oxygen and nutrients to the hair cell prevents its death and stimulates hair growth.

Discontinue the medicine and inform your doctor if you observe any allergic reactions during the treatment. Tell your doctor if you have any history of liver/kidney disease before using Tofarus 2% Gel. If you are pregnant, planning for pregnancy or breastfeeding mother, please consult a doctor before using Tofarus 2% Gel. Avoid smoking or going near naked flames when you have applied the Tofarus 2% Gel since it can catch fire and burn easily. Avoid contact with eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. In case of accidental contact, wash thoroughly with water and inform your doctor. Do not apply the medicine on shaved, inflamed, infected, irritated or painful scalp skin. Tofarus 2% Gel is not recommended for use in children below 18 years of age.

Drug-Drug Interaction: Tofarus 2% Gel may interact with OTC medicines, vitamins and herbal supplements.

Drug-Disease Interaction: Inform your doctor if you have any history of Tofarus 2% Gel liver/kidney disease.

• It is advised to maintain a healthy diet with well-balanced meals.
• Avoid overusing styling tools like blow dryers, curling rods, and chemical dye, which can cause loss of natural hair oils and cause hair fall.
• Regular oiling helps in the blood circulation of the scalp and nourishes the roots.
• Washing your hair twice a week with a good shampoo and conditioner can also improve your hair fall.
• Practise yoga and meditation to control your stress, which is the greatest enemy of hair fall.
• Get regular medical examinations to check your hormonal profile and nutritional deficiencies that cause hair fall.

• Monitoring your hormonal and vitamin D profiles, which can affect your hair loss, is advised.
• Avoid contact of Tofarus 2% Gel with nose, mouth, eyes or broken, irritated skin as it may irritate. If Tofarus 2% Gel accidentally comes into contact with these areas, rinse with water thoroughly.

Alopecia or Hair loss: It is an autoimmune disorder that causes the thinning or loss of hair on the scalp or any other part of the body. The main symptom is patchy hair loss. Coin-sized patchy hair loss is prominently seen on the scalp. However, a person with alopecia may also lose hair in other body parts, including eyelashes, eyebrows, facial hair, and body hair. Alopecia can be due to heredity, hormonal changes, medical conditions or a normal part of ageing. It is more common in men.
