RESISTAL P TAB is a respiratory medication used to treat symptoms associated with chronic bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), allergic rhinitis, and respiratory tract infections, such as cough, sneezing, runny nose, and watery eyes. COPD is a group of lung diseases that mainly include emphysema (shortness of breath) and chronic bronchitis (inflammation of the lining of your bronchial tubes). Allergic rhinitis is an inflammation of the nose caused by an allergen, such as pollen, dust, mould, or flakes of skin from certain animals.

RESISTAL P TAB consists of two medicines: Levocetirizine (anti-histamine) and Ambroxol (mucolytic agent). Levocetirizine is an antihistamine (anti-allergic) drug that reduces the effects of histamine, a chemical substance that causes allergies like runny nose and skin rash. It is used to treat relieve symptoms, such as watery eyes, runny nose, itchy eyes/nose, sneezing, and itching and swelling caused by chronic urticaria (hives). Ambroxol is an 'expectorant' that promotes the secretion of sputum/cough. It is also a 'mucolytic agent' that makes sputum less viscous and makes breathing easier.

Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of the course based on the severity of your disease. Do not stop taking RESISTAL P TAB on your own until the doctor advises you to do so. Like every other medication, RESISTAL P TAB also has common side effects like upset stomach, dryness in the mouth, headache, fatigue, and sleepiness. These side effects, if occurred, generally go away during the treatment. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

It is mandatory to inform your doctor if you have heart, liver, kidney diseases, gastrointestinal disorders, stomach ulcers, prostate enlargement, urinary retention, and diabetes before taking RESISTAL P TAB . Avoid consuming alcohol with RESISTAL P TAB as it could lead to increased drowsiness or dizziness. Do not drive if you feel sleepy after taking RESISTAL P TAB .

• Take the medication as directed by the doctor and at regular intervals. Do not use other over the counter medications, herbal or vitamin supplements without informing your pharmacist or doctor when you take RESISTAL P TAB .
• Know your triggers like allergens, such as pollen, dust, and food items that make your asthma and other respiratory diseases severe.
• Quit smoking and avoid passive smoking. Smoking may reduce the effectiveness of the medicine.
• Drink warm fluids while you take RESISTAL P TAB to help loosen congestion and lubricate the throat.
• Eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly to strengthen your breathing muscles and boost your immune system.
• Learning breathing exercises will help you move more air in and out of your lungs.
• Avoid consumption of alcohol with RESISTAL P TAB as it may cause tiredness, drowsiness or lack of concentration.
