Oftic R Oral Suspension

Oftic R Oral Suspension is indicated in the treatment of diarrhoea in children. Diarrhoea occurs when there is a frequent need to empty the bowels, which is characterized by loose and watery stools.

Oftic R Oral Suspension contains Ofloxacin and Racecadotril. Ofloxacin prevents the growth of bacteria, and Racecadotril reduces the hypersecretion of water into the intestines. Together, Oftic R Oral Suspension helps treat diarrhoea.

In some cases, Oftic R Oral Suspension may cause side effects such as headache, sleepiness, fatigue, and dry mouth. Most of these side effects may not require medical attention and may be resolved over time. However, you are advised to talk to the doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.

Let the doctor know if your child is allergic to any of the components in Oftic R Oral Suspension. Keep the doctor informed about your child’s health condition and medications to rule out any side effects/interactions.

Oftic R Oral Suspension contains Ofloxacin and Racecadotril, which are indicated in the treatment of diarrhoea in children. Ofloxacin is an antibiotic that helps treat bacterial infection and prevents the growth of bacteria. Racecadotril is an enkephalinase inhibitor that reduces the hypersecretion of water into the intestines. It helps decrease the loss of fluid from the body, thus reducing the symptoms of diarrhoea and the risk of dehydration. Together, Oftic R Oral Suspension helps treat cramps, loose/watery stools, bloating, nausea, vomiting, and weakness.

Do not administer Oftic R Oral Suspension to the child if they are allergic to any of its components. Inform the doctor if the child has kidney or liver problems. Let the doctor know if your child is on any other medications, including herbal products or vitamin/mineral supplements.

• Encourage the child to stay hydrated by drinking enough water. You may also give your child watered-down fruit juice or broth.
• To avoid aggravating the digestive system, include bland foods such as bananas, rice, apples, cream of wheat, soda crackers, farina, applesauce, and toast.
• Avoid giving the child spicy and heavy meals.
