About Mox P 500 Tablet

Mox P 500 Tablet belongs to the class of medicines called 'penicillin antibiotics' with probiotics. It treats various bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, skin, urinary tract, tonsillitis, bronchitis, and pneumonia. Besides this, Mox P 500 Tablet prevents antibiotic-associated diarrhoea, dysentery (water loss), and infectious diarrhoea. Mox P 500 Tablet is a broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. 

Mox P 500 Tablet contains two medicines, namely: Amoxycillin (antibiotic) and Lactic acid bacillus (probiotic). Amoxycillin is bactericidal (kills bacteria) that works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering (protective cell wall) necessary for their survival, thereby preventing the growth of bacteria. Lactic acid bacillus is a probiotic that helps restore the balance of good bacteria in the gut (digestive tract) destroyed due to the use of antibiotics.

Take Mox P 500 Tablet as prescribed. The dose and duration of Mox P 500 Tablet can vary depending on your condition and the severity of the infection. Sometimes, you may experience certain common side effects like skin rashes, nausea, vomiting, bloating, and gas. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Directions for Use

Tablet/capsule: Take it as advised by the doctor. Swallow it as a whole with water; do not crush or chew it.Syrup: Shake the bottle well before use. Take the prescribed dose by mouth using the measuring cup/dosing syringe/dropper provided by the pack.

Talk to your doctor before taking Mox P 500 Tablet if you have glandular fever (fever with a sore throat, swollen glands and extreme tiredness), lymphatic leukaemia (cancer of blood and bone marrow) or HIV infection, since you may be more prone to developing a skin rash. Consult your doctor if you are not urinating regularly or have bladder problems while taking Mox P 500 Tablet . Consult your doctor before taking Mox P 500 Tablet if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Avoid alcohol consumption while taking Mox P 500 Tablet to prevent unpleasant side-effects like drowsiness, and it also enhances the amount of medicine in the body leading to toxicity.
