Knit S Ointment contains povidone-iodine, ornidazole, and sucralfate. Povidone iodine and Ornidazole inhibit the growth of infection-causing organisms. Sucralfate helps form a protective barrier over the wound to promote healing, thus helping to treat wound infections.

Knit S Ointment is for external use only. Knit S Ointment may cause common side effects like burning, itching, irritation, and dry skin. Knit S Ointment is a combination of three drugs, namely, povidone-iodine, ornidazole, and sucralfate. Povidone iodine is an antiseptic agent that works by releasing iodine and damaging the protein, fatty acids, and nucleotides of micro-organism cells. Ornidazole is an antiprotozoal agent that kills infection-causing agents by damaging their DNA. Sucralfate is an anti-ulcer medication that forms a protective barrier over the wound to help promote healing. Together, Knit S Ointment helps treat wound infections.
