Imextor SR 1000 Tablet 10's is an antidiabetic medicine used for the treatment of Type II Diabetes. Type II Diabetes Mellitus is a serious condition wherein the body doesn’t use insulin effectively, which causes unusual blood glucose levels. Type II diabetes patients either do not create enough insulin, or the insulin they do make does not accomplish its purpose in the body (insulin resistance). This condition mostly occurs in middle-aged or older patients.

Diet management and exercise, along with treatment of Imextor SR 1000 Tablet 10's are used to control blood sugar levels.

Imextor SR 1000 Tablet 10's may cause certain side effects such as vomiting, nausea, abdominal pain, headache and allergic reactions. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor. Imextor SR 1000 Tablet 10's should be taken as prescribed by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food. The dose of the medicine will be decided by the doctor based on your disease condition.

Drug-Drug Interactions: Imextor SR 1000 Tablet 10's interacts with an anti-depressant (bupropion), drugs used to treat glaucoma, antibiotics (cephalexin, ciprofloxacin), anti-acidity drugs (cimetidine), heart condition drugs (digoxin), anti-epileptic drugs (topiramate, lamotrigine), heart-related chest medicine (ranolazine).

Drug-Food Interactions: Intake of excessive alcoholic beverages may increase the chance of a life-threatening condition known as Lactic Acidosis. So, avoid intake of alcoholic beverages with Imextor SR 1000 Tablet 10's.

Drug-Disease Interactions: Inform your doctor if you have any kidney or liver disease or heart problems.

• Loss of weight gradually to achieve a healthy body mass index (18.5 to 24.9).
• Keep your blood pressure as normal (140/90) as possible, as it reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases in diabetes patients.
• Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption while on treatment with Imextor SR 1000 Tablet 10's.
• Take short, frequent meals, and avoid prolonged fasting when taking Imextor SR 1000 Tablet 10's.

• Imextor SR 1000 Tablet 10's may sometimes cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar levels) as a side effect. Try to carry candies or sugar biscuits in your pocket every time you feel symptoms such as sweating, dizziness, palpitations, shivering, intense thirst, dry mouth, dry skin, frequent urination, etc.
• Inform your physician about all your underlying conditions, like kidney disease or liver disease, prior heart attack, alcohol intake, etc., before the doctor prescribes you Imextor SR 1000 Tablet 10's.
• Avoid drinking alcohol while on Imextor SR 1000 Tablet 10's as it increases the risk of hypoglycemia (decrease in blood sugar, which might be fatal in some cases) and lactic acidosis (when the lactic acid increases in the body, which impacts the functioning of various organs in the body).
• Lifestyle modifications are the most important step in controlling blood sugar levels.
• Your doctor may advise frequent blood tests to check your blood sugar levels.
