GENTAMAC INJECTION belongs to the class of 'antibiotics', primarily used to treat serious bacterial infections. Bacterial infection occurs when harmful bacteria grow in the body and causes illness. It can infect any part of the body and multiply very quickly.
GENTAMAC INJECTION is composed of Gentamicin, an aminoglycoside antibiotic. It prevents bacteria from synthesising essential proteins required to carry out vital functions. It has broad-spectrum activity against aerobic gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
GENTAMAC INJECTION will be administered by a healthcare professional. GENTAMAC INJECTION may cause a few side effects, although not everybody gets them. Common side effects of GENTAMAC INJECTION include stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, weight loss, light-headedness, headache, mood changes, joint pain, itching or rash, pain and swelling at the injection site. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. If these side effects persist longer, please consult your doctor.
Let your doctor know if you have any allergic reactions to medicines, liver/kidney problems, cystic fibrosis (a genetic disorder that affects the digestive and respiratory system), hearing problems, electrolyte imbalance, myasthenia gravis (muscular weakness), or Parkinson's disease before starting GENTAMAC INJECTION. GENTAMAC INJECTION should be used only with a doctor's advice during pregnancy and breastfeeding. GENTAMAC INJECTION may cause light-headedness; in such cases, please do not drive until you are alert. GENTAMAC INJECTION may cause dizziness/vertigo; hence avoid or limit alcohol consumption.
GENTAMAC INJECTION is an antibiotic that treats severe/serious bacterial infections. It contains Gentamicin which works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, thus inhibiting bacterial growth. It shows a bacteriostatic effect, which stops bacterial reproduction but doesn't kill them. GENTAMAC INJECTION is useful in treating recurrent infections of kidneys, urinary ducts and bladder, lungs and airways infections during hospitalization, infections of the skin and soft tissues, including burns, and sepsis (blood poisoning by bacteria).
Brief your medical history to the doctor if you are allergic to any of the components in GENTAMAC INJECTION. Let your doctor know if you have any liver/kidney problems, cystic fibrosis, hearing problems, low blood minerals, myasthenia gravis, or Parkinson's disease. Bacterial infection occurs when harmful bacteria grow in the body and causes illness. It can infect any part of the body and multiply very quickly. Bacteria occur in three basic shapes: spherical, rod and spiral-shaped. Bacteria may be gram-positive (have a thick cell wall) or gram-negative (do not have a cell wall). Some common symptoms of a bacterial infection include cough, fever, shortness of breath, chills, muscle pain, fatigue, and tiredness. Untreated bacterial infections may lead to serious life-threatening conditions like sepsis.
