FZ Eye/Ear Drops belongs to the class of antifungals primarily used to treat fungal eye and ear infections. Fungal infections of the eye and ear refer to conditions where fungi overgrow and infect the tissues of the eye (such as the cornea or conjunctiva) or ear (such as the outer ear canal), leading to inflammation, discomfort and potentially serious complications if left untreated.

FZ Eye/Ear Drops contains Fluconazole, which kills the fungus/yeast and prevents its growth by inhibiting the fungal cell membrane formation. Thus, it treats fungal infections.

FZ Eye/Ear Drops should be used as your doctor has advised. It is an external preparation intended for use in the eyes and ears. Sometimes, you may experience common side effects, such as eye/ear burning sensation, ear pain, irritation during administration, and blurred vision. Most of these side effects of FZ Eye/Ear Drops do not require medical attention and gradually subside over time. However, if the side effects persist, contact your doctor.

FZ Eye/Ear Drops contains benzalkonium as a preservative, so it may cause eye irritation, especially if you have dry eyes or disorders of the cornea (the transparent layer at the front of the eye). After using this medicine, please inform your doctor if you feel stinging or pain in the eye or have abnormal eye sensations. FZ Eye/Ear Drops must not be used in the ear if the eardrum is damaged. Consult your doctor before using FZ Eye/Ear Drops if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. FZ Eye/Ear Drops is not recommended for children unless prescribed by a doctor. FZ Eye/Ear Drops may cause temporary vision problems (blurred vision). Be cautious while driving and operating machinery or avoid doing such activities.

Eye drops: Apply FZ Eye/Ear Drops to the affected eye/eyes. Wash your hands thoroughly with water before and after use. Tilt your head backwards and pull down the lower eyelid to create a small sac. Squeeze the prescribed amount of dose into the sac using the dropper. Close your eyes for about 2 to 3 minutes. Wipe any excess liquid with a tissue. Do not wipe or rinse the tip of the dropper after use. Place the dropper back on the bottle and tighten the cap.

Ear drops: Instil 2-3 drops into the ear canal; do not touch the tip of the dropper. Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. Check with your doctor if you are not sure.

Do not use FZ Eye/Ear Drops if you are allergic to any of the components present in FZ Eye/Ear Drops. Before using FZ Eye/Ear Drops, inform your doctor if you have vision problems, severe eye pain, glaucoma (high blood pressure), eye damage, eye surgery, hearing problems (cytotoxicity), or a perforated eardrum and chronic otitis media. Notify the doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding. Contact your doctor if the infection symptoms persist or worsen after two weeks of treatment.

Eye infections:

• To naturally renew your eyes, get at least six to eight hours of sleep each night.
• You should wash your eyes with clean water at least twice or thrice daily. If you have had eye surgery, wait at least two weeks before washing your eyes.
• Take care of your health, eat a balanced diet, exercise regularly, and rest well.
• Regularly wash your hands. Keep unclean hands away from your eyes.
• Do not rub your eyes.
• Eyeliner, mascara, and kohl should not be shared.
• Wipe your eyes and face with clean towels or tissues at all times.
• If you wear contact lenses, clean them and replace them more frequently. Never share your contact lenses. Always wash your hands before and after inserting and removing them.
• Avoid gazing at digital screens for extended periods.
• Blink frequently to aid in the spread of hydrating substances like mucus and tears across the eyes.

Ear infections:

• Immunity helps prevent infection. To strengthen your immune system, eat fruits and vegetables, high-quality proteins, and whole wheat grains.
• Avoid consuming foods that you are allergic to,, as this can cause the body to produce excessive mucus, which can result in inflammation.
• Avoid getting shampoo, soap, and water in the ear because they can cause itching.
• Poking or scratching the ear can cause damage to the ear canal, resulting in inflammation.
• Quit or limit the intake of caffeine and alcohol.
