Also, it is used to prevent seizures during or after severe head injury and/or neurosurgery. Epsolin Injection 7 x 2 ml may also be used to treat certain cardiac arrhythmias (irregular heartbeat) caused by certain medicines or in patients who do not respond to conventional anti-arrhythmic medication or cardioversion (a procedure in which low shock is used to restore regular heart rhythm).
Epsolin Injection 7 x 2 ml contains 'Phenytoin' that works by decreasing the abnormal electrical activity in the brain. Thereby, Epsolin Injection 7 x 2 ml helps prevent and treat epileptic seizures. Epsolin Injection 7 x 2 ml treats cardiac arrhythmia by inhibiting rapid inward sodium current and shortening cardiac action potential.
Epsolin Injection 7 x 2 ml will be administered by a healthcare professional; do not self-administer. In some cases, Epsolin Injection 7 x 2 ml may cause certain common side-effects such as nausea, vomiting, headache, and constipation. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Drug-Drug Interactions: Epsolin Injection 7 x 2 ml may have interaction with anti-HIV drugs (delavirdine), painkillers (aspirin, acetaminophen), blood thinners (warfarin, clopidogrel), anti-convulsant (gabapentin, pregabalin), anti-depressant (quetiapine), diuretic (furosemide), cholesterol-lowering agent (atorvastatin), a drug used to treat thyroid deficiency (levothyroxine), supplements (ergocalciferol, cholecalciferol).
Drug-Food Interactions: Do not take Epsolin Injection 7 x 2 ml with St. John's wort (an antidepressant herbal supplement).
Drug-Disease Interactions: Inform your doctor if you have/had decreased heart rate, heart block, low blood pressure, heart failure, diabetes, or porphyria (blood disorder).
