Citimac M Tablet belongs to a group of medications called central nervous system/neuroprotective agents, used as a cognitive enhancing agent by protecting the nerves from damage and improving their survival. Cognitive enhancers are also known as nootropic drugs.
Citimac M Tablet is a combination of two medications: Citicoline and methylcobalamin. Citicoline increases the chemicals that protect the nerves from damage and improve their survival. Methylcobalamin is a form of vitamin B. It lowers homocysteine levels, a harmful protein that increases blood clot formation and damages blood vessels in the brain. As a result, this medication enhances cognitive functions such as memory, thinking ability, etc.
You can take Citimac M Tablet with or without food. Swallow Citimac M Tablet as a whole with water, do not crush or chew the tablet. Depending on your health condition, you are advised to take Citimac M Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it. In some cases, Citimac M Tablet may cause common side effects such as irregular heartbeats, stomach pain, decreased blood pressure, and diarrhoea. Most of these side effects of Citimac M Tablet subside with time. However, if these side effects are persistent, consult your healthcare professional.
Do not take Citimac M Tablet if you have an allergic reaction to Citicoline, methylcobalamin, or any ingredients in Citimac M Tablet . Before taking Citimac M Tablet , notify your doctor about your medical condition and other medications you are already taking. Do not take Citimac M Tablet if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed by the doctor. Consuming alcohol with Citimac M Tablet is not advisable as it could lead to unpleasant side effects. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
