Candid TV Suspension 75 ml is a topical combination medication primarily used to treat fungal skin infections, such as seborrheic dermatitis (dandruff) and tinea versicolor (a small patch of discoloured skin). Fungal infection occurs when a fungus invades and affects the tissue on the skin. Symptoms of a fungal infection include a scaly rash and discoloured skin, which is very itchy in nature.  

Candid TV Suspension 75 ml is composed of two medicines: 'Clotrimazole' (antifungal) and 'Selenium sulfide' (anti-infective). Clotrimazole works by stopping the growth of the fungi cell by causing damage and leaking out all content, thereby killing it. On the other hand, Selenium sulphide is an anti-infective agent that relieves itching and flaking of the scalp and removes the dry, scaly particles. Besides this, it also reduces skin damage due to infection by decreasing flaking or scaling of the skin, which helps in new skin formation. Together Candid TV Suspension 75 ml treats various fungal skin infections and dandruff from the scalp. 

Candid TV Suspension 75 ml is for topical (for skin use) only. If the medicine gets into your eyes, nose, mouth, or open-cut wounds, immediately rinse with cold water. Candid TV Suspension 75 ml has common side effects like itching, dryness, redness, swelling, and burning sensation at the application site. These side effects are temporary and resolve during the treatment. However, if these side effects persist, contact a doctor or skin specialist. 

Let your doctor know if you have any allergic reactions to Clotrimazole, Selenium sulfide or other antifungal medications. Do not put a dressing or bandage on the affected area since it increases the risk of side effects. Do not use Candid TV Suspension 75 ml on face or genitals. Candid TV Suspension 75 ml is intended for topical (for skin use) only, and avoid using on red, broken and irritated skin. Do not cover the affected areas with dressing or bandage after treating with Candid TV Suspension 75 ml unless the doctor advised. If you are wearing gold, silver or other metallic objects, please remove them while using Candid TV Suspension 75 ml to avoid discolouration. It is advised that pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should consult the doctor before starting Candid TV Suspension 75 ml.

Drug-Disease Interaction: Brief your doctor if you have a medical history of allergic reactions to medicines, other skin infections, and liver or kidney diseases before using Candid TV Suspension 75 ml.

• Always wear loose-fitting clothes to avoid further sweat and the spread of the fungal infection.

• Regularly change your socks and wash your feet.

• Avoid shoes that make your feet sweaty and hot.

• Do not walk barefoot at places like gym showers to prevent fungal infections.

• Do not scratch the affected area of the skin as it can spread the infection to other body parts.

• Avoid sharing towels, combs, bedsheets, shoes or socks with others.

• Wash your bed sheets and towels regularly.

• Avoid or limit the intake of alcohol and caffeine.

It is advised to reach out to your doctor if the fungal infection symptoms persist or worsen after 2-4 weeks of treatment.

Fungal skin infections are contagious in nature and can spread through direct contact with the infected person. If not treated, fungal skin infection can spread to the entire body with red, patchy and intense itchiness.
