Bronconil Syrup belongs to the bronchodilator class of drugs used to prevent and treat asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) symptoms. Asthma is a chronic (long-term) respiratory condition in which airways narrow, swell, and produce extra mucus, leading to difficulty in breathing. COPD is a group of lung diseases with emphysema (shortness of breath) and chronic bronchitis (inflammation of the lining of bronchial tubes).
Bronconil Syrup contains Acebrophylline, which relaxes muscles and widens the lungs' airways. Additionally, it helps reduce the mucus's viscosity in the airway and facilitates breathing. It helps to cough out easily and makes breathing easier by opening airways.
Use Bronconil Syrup as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to use Bronconil Syrup for as long as your doctor has prescribed it based on your child's medical condition. The common side-effects of Bronconil Syrup are diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, heartburn, stomach discomfort, skin rash or drowsiness. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or you notice any unusual symptoms developing in the child, inform your doctor immediately.
Inform your doctor about the complete medical history of your children. Do not use any other medications or supplements with Bronconil Syrup unless prescribed by the doctor. Do not exceed the stated recommended dose.
Bronconil Syrup is a bronchodilator and mucolytic (mucus thinner) medication used to treat asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) symptoms. Bronconil Syrup acts by relaxing muscles and expanding the lungs' airways. Furthermore, Bronconil Syrup aids in the thinning and loosening of phlegm (mucus) in the lungs, windpipe, and nose. As a result, it facilitates coughing and makes breathing easier by opening airways.
If your child is allergic to any ingredient in Bronconil Syrup , inform your doctor. To rule out any unpleasant side effects or interactions, tell your doctor about your child's health condition and the medications receiving. Do not give more than the stated recommended dose. Do not use this medication alone; it should be used only in children if prescribed by a doctor.
Drug-Drug Interactions: Bronconil Syrup may interact with antibiotics (e.g. ciprofloxacin, erythromycin, amoxicillin, doxycycline), water pills (e.g. furosemide), medicines used to treat gout (e.g. allopurinol) and anticoagulants (e.g. warfarin).
Drug-Food Interactions: Bronconil Syrup may interact with alcohol and caffeine.
Drug-Disease Interactions: Bronconil Syrup may interact with various disease conditions, including low blood pressure, high blood pressure, heart failure, heart diseases, hemodynamic instability (unstable blood pressure), irregular heartbeats, hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid), viral infections, fits, gastric or duodenal ulcers and kidney or liver insufficiency.
Asthma: It is a breathing problem in which airways narrow, swell, and may produce extra mucus, leading to breathing difficulty with a whistling sound (wheezing) in laboured breathing conditions. There is no cure, but basic treatments can help keep the symptoms under control so that they do not interfere with your life.
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD): It is a group of progressive lung diseases with emphysema (shortness of breath) and chronic bronchitis (inflammation of bronchial tubes). Initially, it may be mild, but it can lead to total blockage of airways and severe lung damage in severe cases.
