About Apricacine 2% Injection

Apricacine 2% Injection is indicated for the production of regional or local anaesthesia during surgery or medical procedures. Additionally, it is indicated in the management of ventricular arrhythmia (abnormal heartbeat) associated with acute myocardial infarction, or cardiac surgery. 

Apricacine 2% Injection contains ‘Lidocaine’ that blocks the influx (entry) of sodium ions into the membrane that surrounds the nerves, thereby preventing initiation and conduction of impulses; hence providing an anaesthetic effect. Apricacine 2% Injection blocks cardiac sodium channels, thereby treating arrhythmia.

Apricacine 2% Injection will be administered by a healthcare professional; do not self-administer. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as dizziness, high/low blood pressure, nausea, vomiting, and paresthesia (burning or prickling sensation). You are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.
