Anovate Cream is used to treat pain and bleeding associated with anal fissures, external or internal haemorrhoids (piles), post haemorrhoidectomy pain (pain after operation done to remove piles), and proctitis (inflammation of the rectum). It blocks the chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation. It decreases swelling by shrinking the blood vessels in the affected area. Also, it blocks the pain signals from the nerves to the brain, thereby decreases the sensation of pain. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects such as burning sensation, irritation, itching and redness at the site of application. Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to any of its components or if you are pregnant/breastfeeding, and about all the medications you are taking and pre-existing medical conditions.

About Anovate Cream

Anovate Cream is used to treat pain and bleeding associated with anal fissures, external or internal haemorrhoids (piles), post-haemorrhoidectomy pain (pain after operation done to remove piles), and proctitis (inflammation of the rectum). An anal fissure is a small tear in the mucosa that lines the anus. Haemorrhoids, also known as piles, are the inflamed and swollen veins in the rectum and anus that cause discomfort, pain, and bleeding.

Anovate Cream is a combination of three drugs, namely: Beclomethasone (steroid), phenylephrine (sympathomimetic agent), and lignocaine (local anaesthetic). Beclomethasone blocks the chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation. Phenylephrine decreases swelling by shrinking the blood vessels in the affected area. Lignocaine blocks the pain signals from the nerves to the brain, thereby decreasing the sensation of pain.

You are advised to use Anovate Cream for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects, such as a burning sensation, irritation, itching and redness at the site of application. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Do not use Anovate Cream if you have a skin reaction or irritation to any steroid medicine. Consult your doctor before using Anovate Cream if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Anovate Cream is not recommended for children as efficacy and safety have not been established. Avoid or limit alcohol consumption as it might cause constipation.
