AMINOPHYLLIN INJECTION belongs to the class of drugs called bronchodilators. It is indicated for the relief of bronchospasm associated with asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Asthma is a chronic (long-term) respiratory condition in which airways narrow, swell, and produce extra mucus, leading to difficulty breathing. COPD is a group of lung diseases with emphysema (shortness of breath) and chronic bronchitis (inflammation of the lining of bronchial tubes).
AMINOPHYLLIN INJECTION contains Aminophylline, which helps to relieve bronchospasm associated with asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Aminophylline relaxes and opens air passages in the lungs, making breathing easier.
AMINOPHYLLIN INJECTION is usually administered by a qualified healthcare professional; do not self-administer. AMINOPHYLLIN INJECTION may cause certain side effects, including upset stomach, stomach pain, diarrhoea, headache, restlessness, injection site reactions and irritability. Most of these side effects of AMINOPHYLLIN INJECTION do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.
Before prescribing the AMINOPHYLLIN INJECTION, let your doctor know about all your medical conditions, allergic reactions, and all medications you are using. Also, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. AMINOPHYLLIN INJECTION may cause insomnia and restlessness; therefore, avoid driving vehicles or operating machinery until you return to normal. Avoid the consumption of tobacco. Smoking may affect the effectiveness of aminophylline.
