Aelfix-200 LB Dispersible Tablet 10's belongs to a group of antibiotics used to treat bacterial infections of the ear, nose, sinuses (sinusitis), throat (tonsillitis, pharyngitis), lungs (bronchitis, pneumonia), and urinary system (cystitis and kidney infections). Infectious or harmful bacteria can make you sick and reproduce quickly in your body. These harmful bacteria produce toxins, damaging tissue and making you sick.

Aelfix-200 LB Dispersible Tablet 10's contains Cefixime (antibiotic) and Lactic Acid Bacillus (beneficial lactic acid-producing bacteria). Cefixime kills the bacterial cell by blocking the chemical (mucopeptides) released by the bacteria's outer layer (cell wall). In turn, Aelfix-200 LB Dispersible Tablet 10's weakens and destroys the bacterial cell wall. It is a broad range of antibiotics that helps in fighting various types of bacteria. Lactic Acid Bacillus is a beneficial lactic acid-producing bacteria (good bacteria) that supports the growth of friendly bacteria in the intestine, maintaining a healthy balance of microflora in the gut environment. Lactic Acid Bacillus prevents diarrhoea due to a prolonged intake of Aelfix-200 LB Dispersible Tablet 10's. Thus, together Aelfix-200 LB Dispersible Tablet 10's helps in the prevention of infections.  Aelfix-200 LB Dispersible Tablet 10's will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections.

Take Aelfix-200 LB Dispersible Tablet 10's with or without food. It should be swallowed as a whole, do not crush or chew the tablet. The dose and duration of Aelfix-200 LB Dispersible Tablet 10's can vary depending on your condition and the severity of the infection. It is also recommended to complete the course of medicine even if you feel better, as it is an antibiotic. In some cases, the use of Aelfix-200 LB Dispersible Tablet 10's causes antibiotic-associated diarrhoea; however, Lactic Acid Bacillus in this medicine prevents these symptoms. Inform your doctor if you have phenylketonuria (PKU), as Aelfix-200 LB Dispersible Tablet 10's may contain phenylalanine. Talk to your doctor before taking Aelfix-200 LB Dispersible Tablet 10's if you have diabetes as Aelfix-200 LB Dispersible Tablet 10's liquid dosage form contains sucrose. Long-term use of Aelfix-200 LB Dispersible Tablet 10's may affect your blood, kidney, and liver health, so a yearly diagnostics test of these parameters is recommended.
