Acemiz-MR Tablet is used for pain relief and muscle relaxation. It works by blocking the effect of a natural chemical messenger called cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes that make another chemical (prostaglandins) and work on the central nervous system (CNS) to relax muscles, relieving pain and stiffness caused by muscle strains and sprains. It may cause common side effects such as nausea, vomiting, heartburn, stomach pain, diarrhoea, and loss of appetite. Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to any of its components or if you are pregnant/breastfeeding, and about all the medications you are taking and pre-existing medical conditions.

About Acemiz-MR Tablet

Acemiz-MR Tablet is used for pain relief and muscle relaxation. Muscle pain (myalgia) is widespread and generally refers to uncomfortable sensations in the muscles, which can be due to illness, injury or excessive exercise. It can be continuous or can also occur at intervals.

Acemiz-MR Tablet contains three medicines, namely: Aceclofenac (pain killer), Paracetamol (fever reducer/mild pain reliever) and Chlorzoxazone (muscle relaxant). These work by blocking the effect of a natural chemical messenger called cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes that make another chemical (prostaglandins) and work on the central nervous system (CNS) to relax muscles, relieving pain and stiffness caused by muscle strains and sprains.

Acemiz-MR Tablet can be taken as your doctor advises for the best results. Common side effects of Acemiz-MR Tablet include nausea, vomiting, heartburn, stomach pain, diarrhoea, and loss of appetite. If any of these side effects worsen or subside, please visit your doctor immediately.

Acemiz-MR Tablet should not be taken if you have any serious medical condition, severe kidney or liver disease, are planning to become pregnant or are pregnant. Also, consumption of alcohol should be avoided while taking Acemiz-MR Tablet as it may increase drowsiness and dizziness. Excess of Paracetamol (Acetaminophen) intake can cause liver damage, so its dose should not exceed more than 4 gm per day.

Treatment of Musculoskeletal pain

Medicinal Benefits

Aceclofenac and Paracetamol (Acetaminophen) together work by blocking the effect of a natural chemical messenger called cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes that make another chemical (prostaglandins). These prostaglandins are produced at sites of damage or injury and cause inflammation and pain. On the other hand, Chlorzoxazone is a muscle relaxant that works by centrally acting on the spinal cord by depressing reflexes, thereby relieving pain and stiffness caused by muscle strains and sprains.

Diet & Lifestyle Advise

  • Try to increase the consumption of calcium and vitamin D, as recommended, as part of a healthy bone diet.
  • Omega-3 fatty acid oil enriched food should be included in your daily meal to keep joints healthy.
  • Connective tissues are the “cellular glue” that connects and supports vital organs in the body. This connective tissue is comprised of proteins like collagen and elastin. Proteins are required to keep your muscles healthy, so non-vegetarians should eat high-protein diets like fish (salmon, sardines, and tuna), chicken, and eggs. Meanwhile, legumes, nuts, seeds, and dairy items (milk, yoghurt, cheese) are recommended for a vegetarian person.
  • Magnesium, Vitamin K and Zinc-enriched foods can help keep your bones and muscles healthy, so their intake should be enhanced in your daily diet plan.
  • Physical activities like Tai chi, Yoga, swimming and walking have shown improvement in managing muscle pain.
  • Do not sit for a longer duration. Try to take a gap of 10 minutes by brisk walking or stretching.

Disease/Condition Glossary

Musculoskeletal pain: It is a pain in bones, muscles, the tissues connecting to muscle-muscle and bone-muscle (cartilage, tendon) and nerves which can be felt just in one area of the body, like low back pain. This type of pain can be felt throughout the body if widespread, as in the case of fibromyalgia. The musculoskeletal pain can range from mild/moderate to severe enough, which is sufficient to interfere with your daily routine. It can be short-lived (acute) and can continue for more than 3-6 months (chronic). The most common musculoskeletal pain includes muscle pain (myalgia) from an injury, spasm, infection, or cramp. Loss of blood flow to the muscle can be one of the causes of muscle pain and inflammation. Joint pain due to rheumatoid arthritis (immune disorder) and osteoarthritis can be another contributing factor in causing the pain. Another pain-inducing factor can be nerve compression pain due to high nerve pressure.
