Tricodruf Lotion is used to treat dandruff, a scalp condition characterized by dry, itchy, white flakes of skin. The symptoms include itchy scalp, red, oily, scaly skin, and oily, large white or yellow flakes. Dandruff may be triggered by a fungus called Malassezia. Certain factors, such as stress, hormones, and age, can cause fungus to multiply more quickly than usual.
Tricodruf Lotion is a combination of two drugs, namely Ketoconazole and Piroctone olamine. Ketoconazole works by damaging the fungal cell membranes and killing fungi. Piroctone olamine inhibits fungal cells from utilising energy effectively. Together, Tricodruf Lotion kills fungus and helps to control dandruff on the scalp.
Tricodruf Lotion is for external use only. Use Tricodruf Lotion as advised by your doctor. Some people may experience irritation, burning, itching or redness at the application site. These side effects of Tricodruf Lotion do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
If you are allergic to Ketoconazole, Piroctone olamine, or other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or a nursing mother, you are advised to consult a doctor before using Tricodruf Lotion. Avoid scratching the scalp, as it may worsen dandruff. Cover your head with a scarf or hat while going out. Discontinue the use of Tricodruf Lotion if signs of irritation develop.
