Serratiopeptidase+nimesulide

About Serratiopeptidase+nimesulide

Serratiopeptidase+nimesulide belongs to a class of medication called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) primarily used to treat acute pain in people above 12 years of age. It is used to reduce pain and swelling in osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, primary dysmenorrhoea (painful periods or menstrual cramps), back pain, muscle pain, pain in the throat and ear, toothache, and third molar surgery. Pain can be temporary (acute) or long-lasting (chronic) in nature. Acute pain is caused by damage to the tissues of the muscle, bone, or other organs for a short time. While chronic pain lasts for a long duration and is caused due to nerve damage, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, etc.

Serratiopeptidase+nimesulide is a combination of two drugs, namely: Serratiopeptidase and Nimesulide. Serratiopeptidase is an enzyme that helps break the insoluble protein known as fibrin (a by-product of a blood clot) into smaller units (amino acids). Nimesulide is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (pain reliever) that prevents prostaglandins' release (a chemical associated with pain and swelling). Thus, together it helps in reducing inflammation, pain, and formation of mucus at the affected site.

Take Serratiopeptidase+nimesulide as prescribed. Your doctor will advise you on how often you take your tablets based on your medical condition. Medicinal Benefits

Serratiopeptidase+nimesulide is a combination of two drugs, namely: Serratiopeptidase and Nimesulide. It also causes thinning of the body's fluids due to injury, thereby making fluid drainage smoother in the swollen tissue. Thereby, it promotes healing. Nimesulide is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (pain reliever) that prevents the release of certain chemical substances such as prostaglandins that cause pain and swelling. Thereby, helps in relieving pain and swelling.

    Patients Concern

    Disease/Condition Glossary

Pain can be acute (short term) or chronic (long term) in nature. Acute pain is for a short time caused by damage to the tissues of the muscle, bone, or organs. At the same time, chronic pain lasts for longer duration; it is caused due to nerve damage, osteoarthritis, and dental pain due to damage to the tooth nerve, infection, decay, extraction, or injury. Many women have painful periods known as dysmenorrhea, most often menstrual cramps. Arthritis is a condition that causes swelling of one or more joints resulting in pain and stiffness of joints that worsen over time. There are different types of arthritis, of which osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis are the most common types. The arthritis symptoms include joint pain, redness, stiffness, tenderness, swelling in and around joints, and reduced movement of joints. The risk of arthritis increases with age, obesity, previous joint injury, or family history. Proper medication, physiotherapy, or sometimes surgery may help reduce arthritis symptoms and enhance the quality of life.
