About Shelcal XT Tablet

Shelcal XT Tablet is used to treat and prevent nutritional deficiencies such as calcium deficiency, osteoporosis, osteomalacia, and post-menopausal osteoporosis. A nutritional deficiency occurs when the body does not absorb or get enough nutrients from food. Vitamins and minerals are necessary for body development and the prevention of diseases.
 
Shelcal XT Tablet contains Calcium, L-methylfolate calcium, Mecobalamin, Pyridoxal-5-phosphate, and vitamin D3. Calcium makes bones stronger by increasing their density. Vitamin D3 helps in the absorption of calcium from the stomach. Mecobalamin helps in the proper functioning of the brain, nerves, and the production of red blood cells. Pyridoxal-5-phosphate helps in regulating essential metabolic functions. L-methylfolate calcium helps in producing new blood cells and prevents low folate levels. Together, Shelcal XT Tablet helps in treating nutritional deficiencies.
 
You are advised to take Shelcal XT Tablet for as long as your doctor has recommended it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects, such as stomach upset, diarrhoea, nausea, and vomiting. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Drug Warnings

Do not take Shelcal XT Tablet if you are allergic to any of its components. Inform your doctor if you have hypercalcaemia (high level of calcium in the blood), hypercalciuria (excess calcium in the urine), nephrocalcinosis (excess calcium deposition in the kidneys), nephrolithiasis (kidney stones), hypervitaminosis D (excess vitamin D), sarcoidosis, bowel disease, anaemia, malabsorption, low levels of potassium in blood, kidney or liver problems. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Shelcal XT Tablet should be given to children only if advised by the doctor. Avoid consuming alcohol along with Shelcal XT Tablet . Drug-Drug Interactions: Shelcal XT Tablet may interact with anti-diabetic (metformin), antibiotic (chloramphenicol), anti-convulsant (phenobarbital, phenytoin), anti-neoplastic (altretamine), anti-Parkinson (levodopa), digitalis glycoside (digoxin).
