Psorafuse Ointment 20 gm

Psorafuse Ointment is indicated for the topical treatment of mild to moderate plaque psoriasis in adults and children two years of age and older. Plaque psoriasis is the most common form of psoriasis. It causes dry, itchy, raised skin patches (plaques) covered with scales.

Psorafuse Ointment contains the active substance calcitriol. It works by lowering the activity of immune cells in the skin and helps to inhibit the formation of excess skin cells that can stack up and create scales on the skin.

Always use this medication as advised by the doctor. Psorafuse Ointment is generally safe to use. Some may experience common side effects like itching, redness, stinging sensation, dryness and rash. These side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. If these side effects persist longer, please consult your doctor.

Brief your medical history to the doctor if you are allergic to calcitriol or its components. Inform your doctor before using Psorafuse Ointment if you are pregnant, want to become pregnant, or are currently nursing. Please let your doctor know if you have a history of liver or kidney disease, hypercalcaemia (high calcium levels in the blood), or hypervitaminosis D. (excess Vitamin D levels in the blood). Psorafuse Ointment is not suggested for children under the age of two. While using Psorafuse Ointment, avoid making contact with your eyes, nose, or mouth. If you get this medicine in these places, rinse with water thoroughly.

Brief your medical history to the doctor if you are allergic to Psorafuse Ointment or any of its components. Inform your doctor if you have any history of liver, or kidney diseases, hypercalcaemia (high calcium levels in the blood) or hypervitaminosis D (excess Vitamin D levels in the blood). Pregnant and breastfeeding women should use the Psorafuse Ointment only with proper consultation and caution. Avoid contact with your eyes, nose or mouth while using Psorafuse Ointment. Rinse it thoroughly with water if you get the cream in these areas. Psorafuse Ointment is not recommended for children less than 02 years of age. If you do not notice any improvement in your infection after using the Psorafuse Ointment for one to two weeks, please consult your doctor.

Drug-Drug Interactions: Psorafuse Ointment may interact with calcium supplements or high doses of vitamin D.

Drug-Food Interactions: Avoid or limit the intake of alcohol and caffeine.

Drug-Disease Interactions: Before taking Psorafuse Ointment, let your doctor know if you have any fungal, viral, protozoa infections, liver, kidney diseases, hypercalcaemia (high calcium levels in the blood) or hypervitaminosis D (excess Vitamin D levels in the blood).

• Use mild soap while taking baths and prefer warm baths.

• Always wear loose-fitting clothes to avoid further sweat and the spread of infections.

• Regularly change your socks and wash your feet. Avoid shoes that make your feet sweaty and hot.

• Do not walk barefoot at places like gym showers to prevent infections.

• Do not scratch the affected area of the skin as it can spread the infection to other body parts.

• Avoid sharing towels, combs, bed sheets, shoes or socks with others.

• Wash your bed sheets and towels regularly.

• Avoid or limit the intake of alcohol and caffeine.

• Do not scratch or pick your skin to avoid infecting the affected area.

• Manage stress, eat healthily, drink plenty of water, exercise regularly and sleep peacefully. 

• If you do not notice any improvement of your infection after using Psorafuse Ointment for one to two weeks, please consult your doctor.

• Psorafuse Ointment should be used with caution in individuals receiving drugs known to raise serum calcium levels, such as thiazide diuretics, as well as calcium supplements or high doses of vitamin D.

Plaque psoriasis: Plaque psoriasis is an autoimmune skin condition and is the most common form of psoriasis in which skin cells multiply faster than normal, resulting in white scales and itchy, red, dry patches. Certain medications, starting or discontinuing medications, infections, skin injury, stress, and tobacco or alcohol use are all common triggers for plaque psoriasis.
