Povinanz 10% Solution is an antiseptic and disinfectant used to treat sore throat. It also treats and prevents infections of the lining of the mouth and throat, such as gingivitis (inflammation of the gums) and mouth ulcers. Povinanz 10% Solution is also used to cleanse the mouth for preparation of the oral mucosa before any injection, dental surgery or tooth extraction. 

Povinanz 10% Solution contains Povidone iodine. It works by inhibiting the growth of infection-causing microbes. As a small molecule, iodine can easily penetrate microorganisms and oxidize essential proteins, nucleotides, and fatty acids, leading to cell death. It is effective against bacteria, fungi, viruses, and protozoa.

Use Povinanz 10% Solution as suggested by a doctor. Povinanz 10% Solution may cause common side effects like mouth or throat irritation, dryness of mouth and throat, and burning sensation. These side effects gradually resolve during the treatment and do not require medical attention. However, if the side effects persist longer, please seek medical help.

Brief your medical history to the doctor if you are allergic to iodine or povidone. Let your doctor know if you have thyroid diseases, liver, and kidney problems before starting Povinanz 10% Solution . Please tell your doctor if you are undergoing any lithium therapy or treatment involving radioactive iodine. Do not use Povinanz 10% Solution before or after radioiodine scintigraphy or radioiodine treatment of thyroid carcinoma. Please consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to conceive or are a lactating mother.

Do not use Povinanz 10% Solution if you are allergic to povidone-iodine. Let your doctor know if you have an overactive thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism) or any other thyroid diseases (nodular colloid goitre, endemic goitre or Hashimoto’s thyroiditis), liver, or kidney problems. Please consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to conceive or are a lactating mother before using Povinanz 10% Solution . Povinanz 10% Solution should be used in children under twelve years of age only when the doctor has advised it.

• Avoid caffeine and alcohol to prevent further dryness of the throat.
