About Pirox Gel

Pirox Gel belongs to the group of medications known as NSAIDs (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs) used to treat pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis and musculoskeletal disorders including tenosynovitis, tendinitis, periarthritis, strains, sprains, and low back pain.

Pirox Gel contains 'Piroxicam' that works by blocking the effect of a chemical messenger in the body, known as prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are produced at injury sites and cause pain and swelling. By blocking the effect of prostaglandins, Pirox Gel helps treat mild to moderate pain and inflammation at the injured or damaged site.

Pirox Gel is for external use only. In some cases, Pirox Gel may cause common side-effects such as mild skin irritation, redness, and itching. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to speak to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Do not use Pirox Gel if you are allergic to any of its contents. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning for pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Pirox Gel is not recommended for use in children. Stop using Pirox Gel and consult your doctor immediately if you develop rashes, blisters, peeling of the skin, flu-like symptoms, ulcers in the mouth, nose, throat, connective tissue of the eye or reproductive organs.

Pirox Gel works by blocking the effect of a chemical messenger known as prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are produced at injury sites and cause pain and swelling.
