Oxalgin Nano Gel belongs to a class of NSAIDs (Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) primarily used to relieve joint pain due to arthritis. Arthritis is a joint disease in which the two ends of the joints come together due to the breakdown of a protective covering called cartilage. Arthritis is the swelling and tenderness (pain on touching) of one or more joints characterized by joint pain and stiffness, which typically worsen with age.
Oxalgin Nano Gel contains Diclofenac sodium, Methyl salicylate and Menthol. Diclofenac sodium and Methyl salicylate work by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain, responsible for causing pain and symptoms of inflammation. Menthol works initially by cooling the skin, followed by warming it up. This action helps in improving blood circulation and provides relief from pain.
Oxalgin Nano Gel is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Like all medicines, Oxalgin Nano Gel can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. You might experience side effects such as burning or stinging sensation, irritation, itching, and redness at the site of application. Most of these side effects of Oxalgin Nano Gel do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.
Do not use Oxalgin Nano Gel if you are allergic to any of the contents. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before using Oxalgin Nano Gel. Avoid contact of Oxalgin Nano Gel with eyes, nose, and mouth. If contact occurs, wash with water immediately. Do not use Oxalgin Nano Gel if you have had any recent heart surgery as Oxalgin Nano Gel can increase your risk of fatal heart attack or stroke. Oxalgin Nano Gel may increase the chances of stomach ulcers and bleeding.
Oxalgin Nano Gel is a combination of three medicines, namely: Diclofenac sodium, Methyl salicylate and Menthol. Oxalgin Nano Gel is used to relieve pain and inflammation in joint disorders. Diclofenac sodium and methyl salicylate work by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers which are responsible for causing pain and inflammation such as redness and swelling. Menthol works by causing a cooling sensation to the skin and then warming it up. This action helps in the improvement of blood circulation and thus provides relief from pain. Together, Oxalgin Nano Gel provides relief from pain and inflammation.
If you have a severe allergy to painkillers or if you develop conditions like asthma, rhinitis, angioedema (swelling under the skin), or skin rashes, avoid using Oxalgin Nano Gel. Inform your doctor if you have stomach ulcers, gastric bleeding, severe heart failure, high blood pressure, muscle weakness (myasthenia gravis), sleeping disorder (sleep apnoea), liver or kidney disease. Consult your doctor before starting Oxalgin Nano Gel if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
