About Omnigel
Omnigel is used to relieve acute musculoskeletal pain and osteoarthritis. It effectively reduces pain, swelling, and joint stiffness, thereby improving one's ability to move and flex the joint. Osteoarthritis is a long-term musculoskeletal joint disorder that causes damage to the cartilage and surrounding tissues and is characterized by pain, swelling, stiffness, and loss of function.
Omnigel contains diclofenac, linseed oil, methyl salicylate, and menthol. Diclofenac and methyl salicylate work by lowering hormones in the body that cause inflammation and pain. Linseed oil inhibits inflammatory mediators like leukotrienes, thereby reducing inflammation. Menthol is a soothing and cooling agent which provides a cooling sensation by dilating the blood vessels. Together, Omnigel helps relieve mild to moderate pain in musculoskeletal and joint conditions.
Omnigel is only for external use. Use Omnigel for as long as your doctor prescribes it for you based on your medical condition. You may sometimes experience common side effects such as itching, irritation, redness, and a burning sensation at the application site. These side effects do not necessitate medical attention and will gradually subside. However, you should consult your doctor if you are experiencing these side effects regularly.
Please do not use Omnigel without a doctor's advice if you have a skin reaction or irritation to any medicine. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not use Omnigel in more than the prescribed doses or for a longer duration, as it may cause adverse effects. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and all the medicines to rule out any side effects. Do not take any other NSAIDs for pain relief along with Omnigel unless prescribed. Omnigel is not recommended for children below 14 years, as safety and efficacy have not been established.
Uses of Omnigel
Directions for Use
Gel/Cream/Ointment: Omnigel is only for external use. Take a small amount of Omnigel on the fingertip and apply it as a thin layer on the clean and dry affected area as prescribed by your doctor. Avoid contact of the Omnigel with the nose or eyes. In case of accidental contact with these areas, rinse with water thoroughly. Wash your hands before and after using Omnigel if your hands are not the affected area to prevent the spread of infection. Spray: It is only for external use. Check the label for directions before using the spray. Shake well before each use. Spray the contents from a 5cm distance on the affected area.
Key Benefits
Omnigel is a combination of four drugs: Diclofenac, Linseed Oil, Methyl Salicylate, and Menthol. Diclofenac and Methyl Salicylate are non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) which work by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation. Linseed oil possesses an anti-inflammatory action that inhibits inflammatory mediators like leukotrienes, thereby reducing inflammation. Menthol is a soothing and cooling agent which provides a cooling sensation by dilating the blood vessels, followed by an analgesic effect. It also enhances the penetration of drugs. Together, Omnigel helps relieve mild to moderate pain in musculoskeletal and joint conditions.
