About Myolaxin-D Gel

Myolaxin-D Gel is a combination medicine used to relieve pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal disorders, strain, sprain, arthritis, and low back pain. Musculoskeletal pain could occur due to arthritis, osteoporosis, fractures, dislocations, problems with the bone structure, or injury to the bones, joints, tendons, muscles, and ligaments. Arthritis is a joint disease in which the two ends of the joints come together due to the breakdown of a protective covering called cartilage.

Myolaxin-D Gel is a combination of six drugs, namely: Diclofenac sodium, Oleoresin capsicum, Methyl salicylate, Eucalyptus oil, Camphor, and Menthol. Diclofenac sodium and Methyl salicylate work by blocking the effect of chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation at the injured or damaged site. Oleoresin capsicum exerts an analgesic effect by blocking the pain messengers to the nerves. Eucalyptus oil helps in reducing inflammation. Camphor and Menthol provide a cooling sensation by dilating the blood vessels, followed by an analgesic effect. Together, Myolaxin-D Gel helps in providing relief from pain.

Myolaxin-D Gel is for external use only. You are advised to use Myolaxin-D Gel for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as application site reactions like itching, irritation, redness, and burning sensation. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Do not use Myolaxin-D Gel if you have had any recent heart surgery as Myolaxin-D Gel can increase your risk of fatal heart attack or stroke. Myolaxin-D Gel increases the chances of stomach ulcers and bleeding. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Please consult a doctor before using Myolaxin-D Gel for children below 12 years. Also, avoid local application of Myolaxin-D Gel in children suffering from chickenpox and influenza. Avoid or limit exposure to natural or artificial sunlight as Myolaxin-D Gel may cause a burning sensation. Do not take any other NSAIDs for pain relief along with Myolaxin-D Gel unless prescribed.

Medicinal Benefits

Myolaxin-D Gel contains Diclofenac sodium, Oleoresin capsicum, Methyl salicylate, Eucalyptus oil, Camphor, and Menthol. Diclofenac sodium and Methyl salicylate work by blocking the effect of a chemical messenger known as cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes that make another chemical prostaglandin (PG). By blocking the effect of COX enzymes, lesser PGs are produced, which reduces mild to moderate pain and inflammation at the injured or damaged site.
