About Mouth Ulcer Gel

Mouth Ulcer Gel is a combination of two medicines, namely: Choline salicylate and lidocaine. Choline salicylate is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), whereas lidocaine is a local anesthetic. Mouth Ulcer Gel is primarily used to treat mouth ulcers. Mouth ulcers, also known as canker sores, are small, painful lesions that develop in the mouth or gums' base.

Choline salicylate works by blocking the effect of a chemical messenger in your body, known as cyclo‑oxygenase (COX) enzymes that make another chemical 'prostaglandins' (PG). These prostaglandins are produced at injury sites and cause pain and swelling. By blocking the effect of COX enzymes, lesser PGs are produced, which reduces mild to moderate pain and inflammation at the injured or damaged site. Lidocaine blocks the pain signals from the nerves to the brain, thereby helps in decreasing the pain sensations. Together, Mouth Ulcer Gel helps in treating mouth ulcers.

Use Mouth Ulcer Gel as suggested by the doctor. Take a small amount of medicine onto your finger and apply it directly onto the affected area. If Mouth Ulcer Gel comes in contact with eyes, rinse with water immediately. You are advised to use Mouth Ulcer Gel for as long as your doctor has suggested it for you, depending on your medical condition. No common side-effects have been reported with Mouth Ulcer Gel.

To treat your condition effectually, continue using Mouth Ulcer Gel for as long as your doctor has suggested it. Consult your doctor before using Mouth Ulcer Gel if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not use Mouth Ulcer Gel in more than suggested doses or on a large skin area for a longer duration as it may cause adverse effects. Do not use Mouth Ulcer Gel for treating children's mouth ulcers unless suggested by the doctor. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and all the medicines you are taking before using Mouth Ulcer Gel to rule out any side effects.
