About Itin 0.5% Shampoo

Itin 0.5% Shampoo belongs to a class of medications called anthelmintics. It is used to treat lesions of Rosacea. Rosacea is a long-term medical condition that mostly affects the skin of the face, causing redness on the forehead, cheeks, chin, and nose.

Itin 0.5% Shampoo contains Ivermectin, which acts as an anti-inflammatory drug. Itin 0.5% Shampoo helps calm the skin and reduce irritation and redness associated with rosacea. Ivermectin also has antiparasitic properties and thus acts against Demodex mites which may contribute to rosacea symptoms.

Itin 0.5% Shampoo is for external use only. In some cases, the Itin 0.5% Shampoo may cause dryness, burning, itching, redness, or stinging of the skin as side effects. Most of these side effects eventually resolve over time without the need for medical intervention. Consult your doctor if any side effects worsen or persist.

Do not use Itin 0.5% Shampoo if you are allergic to Ivermectin or other ingredients in this formulation. Consult your doctor if you are a pregnant or nursing mother. Do not use Itin 0.5% Shampoo on eyes or eyelids, lips or mouth. If Itin 0.5% Shampoo comes in contact with these areas, rinse with plenty of water immediately.

Uses of Itin 0.5% Shampoo

Itin 0.5% Shampoo is used in the treatment of inflammatory lesions of rosacea. The detailed uses of Itin 0.5% Shampoo are as follows:
• Treatment of Rosacea: Itin 0.5% Shampoo is used to treat pimples and spots associated with rosacea.
• Reduction of Skin Inflammation: Itin 0.5% Shampoo helps to reduce inflammation within the surface of the skin associated with rosacea.
• Management of Parasitic Skin Infections: Itin 0.5% Shampoo may be recommended by dermatologists off-label for treating scabies and cutaneous larva migrans in certain cases where oral treatment is not suitable or as adjunct treatment.

Directions for Use

  • Follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication.
  • Cream: Apply a pea-size amount of cream to the affected areas of the face (forehead, nose, chin, each cheek) avoiding the eyes and lips. Spread as a thin layer.
  • Lotion: Apply sufficient amount of lotion thoroughly to below the neck and on the affected body as advised by the doctor. Shake well before use.
  • Do not swallow. Avoid contact with eyes and lips.
  • For external use only.

Do not use more than the prescribed dose. Overdose of Itin 0.5% Shampoo may cause rash, swelling, headache, dizziness, vomiting, diarrhoea, numbness/tingling, seizures.

If you are allergic to Ivermectin or other ingredients in this formulation, do not use Itin 0.5% Shampoo. Talk to your doctor if you are a pregnant woman or nursing mother. Do not use other topical medications simultaneously with Itin 0.5% Shampoo without a doctor's recommendation. Do not use Itin 0.5% Shampoo on eyes or eyelids, lips or mouth. If Itin 0.5% Shampoo comes in contact with these areas, rinse with plenty of water immediately.

  • Lower your carb intake, and avoid inflammatory drinks such as packaged juices, sweetened tea, and carbonated beverages. Also, avoid any foods you may be allergic to.

  • Always wash your makeup before sleeping. Never go to bed with makeup on.
  • Spend time on a proper skin care regimen.
