About Felypo Tablet

Felypo Tablet is used to treat and prevent nutritional deficiencies. A nutritional deficiency occurs when the body does not absorb or get enough nutrients from food. Vitamins and minerals are essential in balancing the body's nutritional requirements and thus preventing diseases.

Felypo Tablet is a combination of Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid), Elemental Iron, Folic acid (Vitamin B9), and Vitamin B12 (Cobalamin). Vitamin C is necessary for bones, muscles, and connective tissues and aids in iron absorption. Elemental Iron is an essential body mineral required to form red blood cells to carry oxygen to other body cells and tissues. Folic acid helps form red blood cells and prevents DNA changes that may lead to cancer. Vitamin B12 helps properly function the brain, nerves, and red blood cells.

Your doctor will decide the dosage based on your medical condition. You may experience common side effects in some cases, such as stomach upset, constipation, and diarrhoea. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, if these symptoms persist longer, please consult your doctor.

Do not take Felypo Tablet if you are known to be allergic to Felypo Tablet or its components. Brief your medical history to the doctor if you have any heart/kidney/liver diseases before starting Felypo Tablet . It is essential to seek medical advice before starting Felypo Tablet if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Felypo Tablet should not be given to children unless recommended by a doctor.

Medicinal Benefits

Felypo Tablet contains Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid), Elemental Iron, Folic acid (Vitamin B9), and Vitamin B12 (Cobalamin). Combined with a protein in the blood called hemoglobin, iron helps carry adequate oxygen to various body parts. Folic acid is the synthetic form of folate, a water-soluble Vitamin B9 naturally found in food sources. It helps form red blood cells and prevents DNA changes that may lead to cancer. Vitamin B12 helps in the proper functioning of the brain, nerves, and the production of red blood cells. It treats low blood levels of vitamin B12 in people with pernicious anemia and other conditions like pregnancy, thyroid problems, and stomach and intestinal disorders.

FAQs

Felypo Tablet belongs to the group of medicines called 'nutritional supplements,' primarily used to treat and prevent nutritional deficiencies.
Felypo Tablet is a dietary supplement. It contains Vitamin C, Elemental Iron, Folic acid, and Vitamin B12. When you lack these vitamins in your body, Felypo Tablet helps in normalising these deficient levels. Collectively, Felypo Tablet treats nutritional deficiencies.
Felypo Tablet is best absorbed if taken on an empty stomach. But in some patients, Felypo Tablet may cause gastrointestinal disturbances like stomach upset when taken without food. So, please take it as suggested by your doctor if you have stomach problems.
Antacids may interfere with the absorption of iron. Hence, taking Felypo Tablet two hours before or four hours after taking antacids is advised.
Folate deficiency occurs when your body lacks adequate folic acid/folate levels. You can overcome this deficiency by including food sources rich in folic acid, like broccoli, brussels sprouts, leafy green vegetables, cabbage, kale, spring greens, spinach, peas, chickpeas, kidney beans and breakfast cereals fortified with folic acid. Your doctor may advise supplements if your folic acid levels are still low.
Vitamin B12 deficiency is caused when you don't have enough cobalamin levels in your body. You can include natural Vitamin B12 sources like eggs, beef, liver, chicken, trout, salmon, tuna fish, clams, fortified breakfast cereal, low-fat milk, yoghurt, and cheese in your diet to treat the deficiency. Your doctor may advise supplements if your vitamin B12 levels are still low.
It is important to tell your doctor if you have malabsorption syndrome (difficulty absorbing nutrition from food) since it may be hard to absorb vitamins through oral administration. Your doctor may advise other dosage forms in such a case.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is time for the next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and follow your usual dosage. Do not double the dose.
