If you think your child has an iron deficiency and its associated anaemia, it is advised to consult a paediatrician who can help with the diagnosis. Apart from the supplements advised by the doctor, you can include various good sources of iron in your child’s diet. These sources include iron-fortified cereals, lean meat, fish, tofu, eggs, raisins, dates, beans, and spinach. It is also advised to give fruits and vegetables rich in vitamin C to enhance iron absorption.
