About Caltock-D Capsule

Caltock-D Capsule belongs to the class of nutritional supplements used to treat low calcium and magnesium levels. Caltock-D Capsule increases bone density and is also used to treat Vitamin D deficiency, hypocalcaemia (low levels of calcium), osteoporosis (weak and brittle bones), rickets or osteomalacia (softening or deformation of bones due to lack of calcium) and prevent or treat low blood calcium levels in people who cannot get sufficient calcium from their diet.

Caltock-D Capsule is a combination of four nutritional supplements, namely: Alfacalcidol (a type of vitamin D), Calcium citrate (calcium supplement), Isoflavonoid and Magnesium oxide (mineral supplement).  Alfacalcidol works by strengthening the bones by increasing the calcium and phosphate levels in the blood that are essential for the formation of healthy bones and teeth. It raises the Vitamin D levels and thereby increases calcium levels in the blood. Calcium citrate is a calcium supplement that is used to prevent or treat a calcium deficiency. It provides essential nutrients to maintain bone formation. Isoflavonoid increase bone mineral density. Magnesium oxide is a mineral supplement used to prevent or treat low magnesium levels in the body.

Disease/Condition Glossary

Vitamin D deficiency: It is a very common deficiency that occurs due to an inadequate supply of vitamin D to the body. The symptoms of Vitamin D deficiency include tiredness, bone and back pain, depression, bone loss, slow wound healing, hair loss and muscle pain. The deficiency of vitamin D may lead to conditions such as osteoporosis (weak and brittle bones), and osteomalacia (weak bones).

Osteomalacia/Rickets: Rickets is a bone disease caused by softening and weakening bones in children due to inadequate vitamin D. Adults can experience a similar condition known as osteomalacia. It causes bone pain, poor growth, and soft, weak bones that can lead to bone deformities.

Osteoporosis: It is a bone disease that weakens and thins bones by decreasing bone density.  As the density of bones decreases, they weaken and are more likely to break.

Hypocalcaemia: It is a condition that is caused due to low levels of calcium in the blood. Hypocalcaemia can be caused by a lack of vitamin D.
